Added reply in a thread Should Enduro Be a Riding Type? 12/26/2015 10:38 AM

I want to add some comments to my original post. This Triangle is more about labels for companies to use to distinguish between products in their lineup. As I thought about it, I never said, "I'm going freeriding!" or "I'm going Pakring!" when I owned ... more »

I am all on board for calling Enduro a riding discipline in addition to a racing format. Labels can really help us to understand a bikes designed strengths and weaknesses, which help us to choose a bike (or bikes for the fortunate) that are right for

So, here you are getting after Gwin for bringing religion into his interviews, yet you are bringing it into a forum about racing rumors. Guys who make comments like yours bring up Gwin's religion more frequently than Gwin does.

Check out http://www.hookit.com/ there are a number of companies that will sponsor you. Some companies offer great deals, while other companies are cheap. Good luck at the races.

I would go for any slopestyle bike that you can outfit with a rear derailleur and gears if you want a bike to ride trail and hit jumps with. Trek Ticket S, Specialized P-Slope (though you will have to swap some parts to give this bike gears,) Specialized ... more »

I haven't had any problems running a 180 air sprung, single crown fork (180 Fox 36 Float) at the park, and both the Voltage, and Darkside work well with single or dual crown forks. Also, the Knolly Delerium should be out before the parks open up next ... more »

Added a comment about feature Opinion: When Does Risk Outweigh the Reward? How Red Bull Rampage Changed Our Perspective 10/19/2015 12:57 AM

If Red Bull and other companies did not receive a financial gain from the athletes beyond what they receive from any of their consumers, then I would agree with your sentiment. However, while these athletes love what they do, and would likely push the boundaries regardless of Rampage, I do not believe that is a good reason to allow a company to exploit the athletes. They and the diggers are still providing a major financial benefit to the sponsors and organizers of Rampage, and it is unjust to withhold adequate compensation and safety precautions. In essence, athletes and diggers are working for the organizers and sponsors of Rampage from the moment they walk onto the site to dig or ride until they walk off it again.

They deserve the safest work environment possible, just like any other worker in every other job. They also deserve just compensation for the work/benefit they provide, just like any other worker in every other job.

Well said. I have had one thought running through my mind constantly since I found out about Paul's injury. Could a catch fence like seen in Olympic Skiing have prevented his injury? Could the Rampage organizers reasonably install these and other "fall protection" on the mountain without interfering with the riders lines? Is it (or should it) even be their responsibility to take such safety measures? I love Rampage, but this year has made me sick at heart. If it can't be made safer and worthwhile "to a reasonable person" for the dig teams and athletes, then I am willing to turn my focus to other events.

I agree with Falcon, take the RC back and get your RCT3. You paid for it after all, and by law the shop is obligated to give you what you paid for, or give you your money back.

I would try and contact the Priest Lake State Park authorities and see what they say are the best deterrents for bears in the area. http://parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/parks/priest-lake I have heard that what you do in a bear attack depends on the species of bear, but I imagine the Park Rangers ... more »

Analyze a given riding situation, plan, then commit like Cam Zink. Pretty much all other skills will go up a notch from there.
