How do those Sapim CX-Ray spokes hold up? Are they as good as DT Swiss competition spokes?

Looks like a DHX Air. I'm sure they are changing the Damping, but come on Fox, I doubt it will be as good a DH air shock as the High volume layout found on the DB air, Vivid air, Swinger Pro, and Void. Until Fox makes an air shock that has a body that is very different from their enduro offering, I'm not really interested. Only way to change my mind is to have a shootout between this Prototype (once it is in production) and a DB Air or Void. Just my opinion though.

Sam Pilgrim on a triple crown fork, dh bike? Whaaat?? Anyway, Sam had some nice style on the big bike. I bet if he spent some more time on one riding the DH tracks in Europe that he could become a Rampage podium threat. He just needs to get more comfortable on the Big Bike Terrain!

Walker Shaw, Dual Slalom National Champs at Angel Fire

I think that dual slalom and 4x could get a lot more love from the mountain bike community if the tracks were built a little more like a "dual lane DH course" or a really wide DH track that could handle 4 riders at a time. Not only to I think those type of tracks would be easier to build and maintain, but the level of riding would force racers to choose between BMX and MTB, since it would require a MTB skill set to win over a BMX skill set. And I think it would be even more fun to watch.

Most photos of most tracks (WC tracks included) tend to make the track look flat. Heck, the first time I watched a helmet cam video of the track in Andorra I thought it looked lame. But then the coverage of the race, and what the racers were saying changed my mind. As for this track, they incorporated parts of another track that was on the WC in 2006. So either WC tracks in '13 are tougher than they were in '06, or this track is tougher than it looks. I do agree that most of the US lacks really tough tracks, and needs way more tracks that are up to the WC standard.

Added a comment about video When Roadies Do MTB... Meet the Pinarello Dogma XM 7/12/2013 11:32 AM

"All MTB manufacturers build their own frames on the assumption that the fork should rotate 360-degrees. This forces them to stretch the main triangle, inevitably compromising its own natural stiffness, contrary to that of road frames."

Four arguments on this statement. One, since when are road bikes the pinnacle of bicycle strength? I thought that when they hit random dogs in the road they crumble. Second, since MTB is a different beast with different needs, why make it into a road bike with suspension and knobby tires (didn't they already do that in the 1960's and 70's?)
Third, not all mountain bikes have 360 degrees of fork movement. Apparently the Pinarello staff with "unquestioned mountain biking experience" has never heard of Downhill MTB racing, or Freeride MTB. And finally, this incredibly experienced staff has never heard of Slopestyle MTB, where you need your fork to move 360 degrees in order to do many tricks.

Once again, I can't help but think that roadies are very stuck up and ignorant.

I'm not saying that he doesn't have a legitimate cause to sue, it's more that I just don't know. Based on the little info I've seen, the timing seems to be off. If I had tried to get licensing for a design I made, and then the company went ahead and started producing my design before the license negotiations were finalized, I would have gone after them right then, not 9 years later. After all, if it is your patented design, legally you own all rights to producing it. Why let a company make illegitimate money off of your hard work for so long? Why not work at stopping it the moment it starts? It's the lack of answers to those questions that make me wonder if Dave Weagle is just "trolling." So in a nutshell, I'm not sure that he actually has a case. If he does, then I really hope he nails those thieves. But if there is no patent violation, I kinda hope he gets nailed for defaming the names of those company.

Man, I like all the DW bikes I have ridden, but this guy seems to be going after everybody. And after each suspension design has been around for years too. Maybe he should have sued them earlier? I'm also curious how the trek case is going as I have never seen any updates on it.

Prototype Trek Slalom/Slopestyle Bike - Sea Otter Classic Pit Bits

I bet Trek holds off production as long as they can, just so that when it finally hits the market, people will actually be willing to pay twice the money needed to buy it's competition. Even though I seriously doubt that it will cost them twice as much as their competition to make it.

Devinci Wilson Carbon 2013

I've heard that the DHX doesn't let the Wilson use it's full travel. Something about it being too progressive. Have you had that problem? And how did you avoid it or fix it? And above all, killer bike man, that is almost 100% my dream rig.
