If you're into light XC rides and gravel path cruising, that could be a decent trade. If you want to actually mountain bike, save up a bit more, and buy something like this (new): http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/us/en/vitus-sentier-hardtail-bike-deore-2017/rp-prod146560 ... more »

You're ignoring the bike's weight, which could offer quite a bit of confidence and stability in rougher terrain.

Show us a video of your local trails, and tell us your budget. You're looking at $500 minimum (unless you get lucky), just to let you know.

I run a set a $17 Eclat poly pedals and 5.10 freeriders. When I forget to wear the bike shoes, I wreck 100% of the time at the pump track.

I wouldn't say it's a success in terms of being innovative in the same ways as a Prius, but they went off on a tangent and built a cool ass bike.

I guess the next step will be mandatory registration of bicycles at the time of purchase and having to use this registration to purchase a lift ticket.

ALL forks break, but some break the bank too. You just want a stiff fork that is near or under 5 lbs.. Don't worry about the inner workings. That being said, a company with a good warranty will save you more money than buying a shitty fork with a bad ... more »

Name your other options in the same price range. Yes, the Trailpimp is a solid bike and a great first DJ bike.

Either some of you guys are a lot more observant than I am, or you just like to nitpick. I think that with changes this small, you will just tell yourself it feels better, because you WANT to believe it does. The ideal setup may vary on every 10 feet ... more »

We have the 4130 Subway Series ride here in L.A., and you wouldn't believe some of the cruisers out on the ride. Everyone brings out their old school BMX bikes, and we haul ass from Hollywood to Downtown L.A.. There were probably over 100 24" cruisers ... more »

I really loved my Mirraco 20Forty. I bought a 20" right before it to make me smoother on my mtb, but all it did was kick my ass. The 24" was comfortable right off the showroom floor, and I like to think it made me a better mtb rider. I rode that thing ... more »
