What's the rationale behind the 160mm fork when Privateer recommends a 170-180? Does it help the front wheel grip better?
Axle-To-Crown is more important when it comes to geometry. Öhlins forks tend to have a high ATC, for instance the RXF36 160mm ATC is =580mm while the Lyrik 170mm ATC =582mm.
I also like to have balanced travel F & R...
Do the bigger pullies make a noticable difference?
I can't really find a difference in the diameter difference but the quality of the bearings does. Sram bearings are slowing the pulleys like hell and these Garbaruk roll so much better...
Thats a mighty fine all around trail destroying weapon right there!!!
But at this level of total awesomeness: why not AXS????
Simply because this build was made from the bucks I had after selling my previous Genius frame kit.
I kept what was working or was light/strong enough and bought the rest without burning the budget.
X01 drivetrain had no issues while the AXS dropper doesn't exist in 200mm. The Transfer is trouble-free and without a battery to recharge.
Bike of the Day January 16, 2021!
what rotors are those?
Formula floating
Amazing! This was supposed to be today's bike of the day ;0)
I posted it right after the article about 7 Privateer owners Q&A
Also Vital posted a story about a Privateer project so I guess they have covered enough Privateers for the moment haha
True story. However, your bike was just too damn sexy to ignore any longer, I had to give in today... ;-)
Proper sexy 👌🏻
