But he'll probably be able to join the British Cycling team, like Peaty did? Not sure how many points are needed for that, but it seems like the only real option?

With the move to 29" wheels, you will most likely see companies make bikes with 200mm or less, not the other way around. Despite Minnaar's bike, I think this will generally be true once companies make dedicated 29" frames. But regardless, why does it ... more »

Reply to What makes the price of aluminum change? 5/20/2017 1:08 AM

1. Different grades of aluminum have different costs associated with them. 2. Time is money, and long processes need to be accounted for. A sheet of aluminum has a far minimal labor cost associated with it than cold forged or hydroformed or 5-axis CNC ... more »

Looks rad! And also unique, which is a very good thing. I was honestly a little disappointed with the M16 looking too similar to the V10.

Damn... Loic only a second and a half back. Despite the track, I am super looking forward to the WC race in June. Gonna be good racin'!

^You are partly right, partly wrong. The money is there (look at ski racing), the motivation simply isn't. I'm lucky to call Schladming my home track and I work in the ski industry. Places like Schladming make money hand over fist promoting ski events, ... more »

Duder - from someone who has been there, is this track as boring as it looks? I know it's mega rough in spots, but there just appear to be so many boring 1-meter wide kitty litter sections or fire road-type sections that it's hard to see how this track ... more »

This is probably the first bike-specific tool I got and it's definitely one of those tools that removed so much unneeded frustration and cursing when working on my bike. Every time I use it, I literally wonder, "what the hell was I thinking before owning ... more »

Pump those brakes brah. I do believe the reason for cutting down the trees was due to a beetle infestation that was causing damage and they wanted to stop/slow the spread to the neighboring trees.

I don't say what I said as a keyboard warrior, but rather as a local who rides both tracks. The track at Leogang awkwardly right angles down the mountain, which most likely has to do with land usage permissions, as mentioned above. But that doesn't change ... more »

Reply to 2016 Leogang World Cup Thread 6/10/2016 10:08 AM

Honestly the track is weird. It's a bunch of awkward "tech" sections (mix of both natural and man-made) that are linked together by flat traverses. It has crappy flow and feels totally disjointed. The mountain itself is super steep with lots of rad terrain, ... more »
