The fit is spacious and comfortable on my average width feet. One cool detail not mentioned but shown in the photos is the elastic lace holder. It's an easy way to keep things in check.

These look rad, but I really wish companies would offer the same color ways for flat and clipped. Why they think the flat pedal rider had a different color palate than the clipped rider is a bit retarded. WTF

It's actually fair and balanced in that the reviewer openly states they didn't have enough time with the Fox....

"Both shocks had the same spring weight and were set to standard base settings for the Demo 8..."

That should say it all really. The FOX was in the recommended settings (X clicks of this, Y turns of that) and was tuned for the bike per FOX and Specialized's testing for the 2013 model....more

As described above, this is a project bike intended to show the potential given the frame's weight. You can check out the two builds that are available at http://www.pivotcycles.com/bikes/detail/18

Very cool bike, except for the rubber bumper to protect the rear end from contacting the seat tube. That contact should be impossible on a properly designed frame when using the correct size shock for the bike. Claiming...more

I love how even Shimano's "Main Man" (a fair title, I think) isn't running Shimano's abortion of a new XTR cranks and rings.

I believe his time would have beat all the ladies. Not bad for no rear tire for most the race.

His pace for the last half of the course was retarded fast for having no tire thats why its such a big deal. did you even watch his whole run?

People are stoked on it because Gwin didn't give up once he flatted. He continued to push as if he were still racing for something knowing that his chances of getting any points were very low. If he had throttled back and cruised like most racers would/do, no one would care. His determination...more

It's such a big deal because all of us privateers would instantly pull to the side of the trail so as not to have to pay for a new rim and we're all living vicariously through him to try and feel the grip of raw aluminum digging into fairly hard packed dirt. He really did handle some of those...more

Me, circa 2009/2010: hey Maxxis, you should release a shorter version of a mud spike, since many racers cut their spikes and there is really nothing in between an intermediate tire and a deep mud tire.

Maxxis: Nu uh. not gonna happen.

2014: surprise! hahaha...... oh jeeze

I'm tired of WC racers complaining about tracks not suiting their skillsets. F*ck off already and adapt. Variety is good, and the guys who come out on top at the end of the season are the ones who can ride everything. I can't believe guys like Hill and Brendan still haven't adapted to pedally tracks...more

Considering Gee crashed in the 2nd tunnel I would say there were more than 2 sections where the race was won and lost. I thought the weekend was great. Good to have variety in the tracks.

Gotta love Gwin. Gets basically zero points but still has a champion's attitude to keep ripping like that.

Gwin: but overall it's fast which is what I think downhill should be all about! " You got to accept the speed you're hittin' shit with and just hold on for dear life!" -- Ratboy. Worked on race day!
