oghunt Liked a comment about product review 2025 Orbea Rise LT Long-Term Review

To clarify on the RS tuned EP801 motor, it is 85nm of torque but only makes 400 peak watt hours not the 600 peak watt hours that a untuned EP801 can make. Orbea doesn’t make this clear anywhere on their website but I have spoken to them directly about this and the lack of clarity regarding this relatively important matter. Hope this helps potential buyers.

Mountain Jerk Added a new Feature TESTED - 2023 Orbea Rise Long Term Review

8/29/2024 3:34pm
L aunched in 2020, the Rise was Orbea's first 'SL' (super light) eMTB offering. At the time, few brands offered models in the fresh category that Orbea deemed "less e, more bike." The bike was...

going to sound like an old guy with no vision, but i just think that downhill mountain biking (or any competitive mountain biking) will always have a limited audience because of what it is. i prob feel that way b/c i've seen the audience size stay relatively similar over the last 25 years (i have no hard data on this, just personal observations from then till now). DH is inherently niche because it's difficult to access (as a participant or a live spectator), expensive and risky. add in today's challenge of social media networks/phones dominating eyeballs and time compared to...

Mountain Jerk Added a comment about feature FIRST RIDE - The Second Generation Orbea Rise

5/4/2024 6:19pm
The Bosch CX motor has the race characteristics that Orbea was looking for on the Wild. For Rise, the Shimano motor is fairly light and Orbea is able to work with Shimano to develop the custom tune that best suits Rise and it allows for short chain stays with a 29 inch wheel.

iceman2058 Liked a comment about Press Release Fox Racing Adds BOA to Union Flat Shoe

I've been very clear in my reviews, the Fox rubber is AS GOOD as Spesh and Five Ten. "Better"...that's a tall order. For me, there are three soles that occupy the top step of the grip/confidence podium, that's Five Ten/Spesh/Fox. If you want a BOA flat, this Fox is definitely the one to go for. Any of the other BOA flats on the market fall short in the grip department at present.

After a long-awaited journey of tech forum spy photo enhancing and humorous bleed port etching, the new MAVEN brakes from SRAM are finally here! The purpose of the MAVEN brakes is not only to bring more braking power to bikes but also to create the most usable power possible out of a braking system. Figuring out how much power is actually usable on a bike is a painstaking process, and SRAM has done their homework extensively over the last few years to learn what that limit is. Is there such a thing as too much braking power? SRAM MAVEN Ultimate...

I can't get over how quickly it went from everyone trying to figure out each feature and the track appearing as this crazy, nearly unrideable thing to everyone just figuring it out and doing full runs. You can literally see the bar get raised in just a few days. Highlight for sure has been all the women ticking off features. This will stand as a massive leap forward for the women's freeride scene and goes to show the level that their riding is at; they just need the chance to get their foot in the door.

I freakin' dig how this thing looks and am dying to know how it rides. The serviceability of everything would keep me from ever buying one though. Also not sold on the convenience of that internal storage snake.
