please don't, I can't stand those straps over laces, I'd rather tuck laces in a bungee type thing. To each their own, but to any PM's reading, there are people that don't like Velcro straps.

Mateo, I've actually CTRL+F this thread and the word hate (in caps) only shows up in two posts and none is from chase. When did all of a sudden any opinion became hate? Some are more vocal than others. It's an internet forum, it's a throw away discussion not the concilium of the gods.

He's complaining that people are so obsessed with fawning over a tool that's meant to beaten into oblivion & abused so you get the max awesomeness out of it. He's basically stunned that this product has a buyer. He's not throwing the company under the bus. He's lamenting the consumerism of the...more

Hostility is the result of my lack of patience for dumb stuff and how this industry will promote it nonstop and never mention that it is not necessary. Nobody wants to upset their buddies in man buns. I will and don't GAF.

Its........wait for it. A bike. A mountain bike. It will get scratched up if you do it right. Your analogy is retarded.

This. Top tube to keep your buddy's levers from destroying it when you shuttle. Chainstay and seatstay for all the heel rubbers out there. Top of the seatstay bridge and or "loam shelf" as well as back of the seat tube to prevent flying rocks from doing damage. Most frames have some sort of shuttle...more

I have the material and can cut and apply film over vulnerable spots as needed. It is driven by carbon fiber garage queens who obsess over resale. I don't buy my bikes thinking immediately about resale. That is dumb.

In an industry overwhelmed with dumb and overpriced products. The protection film market is leading the charge for the stupid looking to give away their money because they don't want a scratch on their frame. Insane.

I understand physics extremely well. Comparing glass, brain movement within the skull, etc are all erroneous when compared to the force buffering provided by those other barriers. A more appropriate comparison would be a bra on a car. Protects the paint from scratches and chips, but provides no...more

While there is validity in your statement, the comparison is a pretty enormous stretch. In reality, it keeps the bike looking pretty for aesthetics and resale value. Nothing more, and that’s fine

Why even bother yourself with frame coverage? it is already painted, why to add wrap on top of that?
it is free, less stressful and 0 hours wasted, and 0 waste

I once wrapped an aluminum frame (YT tues 2.0 first production year). It was my bikeparksled and I did a DIY-3M-Job and covered only exposed areas as downtube, bottom bracket, chainstays, as well as fork stanchions.
The idea was to keep the frame and fork in good condition with resellvalue in mind....more

I'd just like to remind everyone bikes are still cool, yeti is still a great company, and being critical of something doesn't mean we "hate" each other.

Sparring intellectually is okay. We used to do this all the time. I'd like to bring it back.
