I believe ari can and piggybag clearnce with the frame, and I believe, as with most frames with similar issues, depends on frame size... check mtbr forum...

I just tried to put a topaz on my L frame, and still the reservoir hits the top tupe when fully compressed. Looks fugly mounted flipped down and back...

The way the rear end compresses, the piggyback is actually brought up away from the down tube. I had it positioned on the top at first but it made very light contact with the top tube on full bottom which I didn't want to risk. This was the best position for this particular shock.
I think DVO shocks have the same problem with M frames
