After travelling two days and 1600 km from my beloved city SC. de Bariloche, I was received by the beautiful city of Valparaíso, where, as every year, the Red Bull Valparaíso Cerro Abajo is carried out.

I arrived at Valparaíso on Saturday and walked down the picturesque streets of this city, which was a witness of the most extreme and spectacular Urban DH race in the world. This city, located in the central coast of the mainland of Chile, is shown in the shape of a large natural amphitheater, situated in a bay and surrounded by hills, in which most of the population lives. On Saturday February 23rd, Valparaíso was dressed up for this event, showing all the colorful own and provided by the hundreds of visitors. In fact, more than fifteen thousand people attended the event.

Fifty riders from all over the world were invited to participate in this amusing and prestigious race which, for the first time ever, was included in the annual calendar of the new World Tour of Urban Downhill.

Among the riders that represented Argentina, can be mentioned: Pablo Seewald (Bariloche), actual Argentinian champion, Santiago de Santiago (Córdoba), Jeremías Maio (Córdoba), Mauricio Flores (Mendoza), Pablo Noriega (Córdoba) and Juan Cruz Páez (Córdoba), who at the age of 17 took part of the race for the first time.

t in safety measures for the competitors and the spectators. Unfortunately, there were some delays in the practice, the classification and in the race itself.
The different wall rides, ramps and stairs build for the event, as well as the Red bull sponsor, demonstrate that this competition is not for everyone. Just the experienced ones are able to compete; those who have done large jumps before and who are willing to give a good show for the group of enthusiasts that animated the event with chants and shouting of incentive to anyone who walked by the sector of the ramps and the stairs.

The competition also attracted the best bikers in the world, such as the actual champion, the Colombian Marcelo Gutierrez, the Australian Michael Hannah, the French Remy Metalier and the Slovak Filip Polc, who was crowned as the winner this year.

Personally speaking, having lived this experience as a photographer was very important for me. Leaving the woods, going into a city like Valparaíso and working surrounded by more than fifteen thousand people was wonderful and something I would love to do again next year.

I would like to thank the Farías family, who supported me in Chile and made me feel like I was part of the family. To the Allbikers guys, to my friend and amazing photographer Claudio Olguin for the constant support and specially to my family for helping me with the trip and with my professional career.
