More on that new FOX fork - definitely seems a lot beefier than a 36, with a burlier arch and bleed ports to boot. Definitely something new coming... View this post on Instagram New goodies from @ridefoxbike spotted at the @world_enduro in Zermatt. Looks beefier than a 36, and it seems to have air bleed ports as well. #RAD A post shared by Vital MTB(@vitalmtb) on Sep 21, 2019 ... more »

A better look at the Flossing Foe:

So apparently this trackside dude was trying to get in Loic's head by "flossing" as he went by during his race run. He seems to be wearing headphones...a competitor's team or even part of the organizing teamr?

There is certainly some wiggle-room for personal preferences here, but we made this handy guide a few years ago which helps explain the basic concepts and what to look for when setting up your cockpit: How-To Cockpit Set-Up.

A Fox 36 is going to give you that extra burliness you are looking for, without giving up much if anything in the plushness department. I'm currently testing the latest Ohlins RXF 36 and it's right up there too. Both would certainly be a big step up ... more »

Reply to Discussion: Fork Damping vs Spring Rate 7/24/2019 11:30 AM

I did find that I could start leaving the damping settings more towards the middle of the range with GRIP 2, whereas on RC2 I'd have it all pretty much open. Now I can "get away" with more damping with the GRIP 2 (closer to FOX's baseline), but that ... more »

Reply to Discussion: Fork Damping vs Spring Rate 7/24/2019 3:05 AM

It's funny, people often say they "want better damping" as if for example a more expensive fork is going to inherently have damping that "feels smoother" or whatever. If you look at how hydraulic damping actually works, you'll soon understand that more ... more »

I find there is a marked difference in ramp up between FOX's EVOL and RockShox's DebonAir. The FOX definitely ramps more, it's pretty stingy with the last part of travel even with no tokens, while the RockShox dives in willingly. Did you find the RockShox ... more »
