Titanium is some good stuff but isnt it rather flexy for a full suspension bike?

Very thorough review John! Definitely a bit bias here as a Status owner but with the other Vital review that came out this week on the Status 160 - a very comparable bike geometry, use, and (arguably) intended audience-wise for 2/3 the cost - it seems to me that the Big S is far ahead of the game in this market. The mullet setup won't be for everyone but a 29" rear wheel will fit for those that are interested: https://www.mtbr.com/threads/2021-specialized-status.1145425/page-22
With these two reviews coming out so close together is there any chance Vital is putting together a budget friendly, aggressive geo, aluminum shredder shoot out to compare and contrast a few of these high fun-factor whips??

The other appealing thing ..it was the only new bike available during the worst part of the COVID shortage so I had buddies buy it and get to ride immediately

Sounds like a rad bike. Compared to pretty much anything else out there the price is amazing (over at sc this build would be a min of $4500). Well done specialized

For most everyone under 6' tall the mullet is just so much easier to move your body around on than a full 29er. And the theres no question the 29er in the front is fantastic traction and plowing. When I ride full 27.5' now my hands feel way too low, even with ton of stack height. The mullet really is the dream!
