Great brakes sets! But thats a problem. These brakes are so great, that small differences maybe bluried by reviewer bias, fadigue, time riding, etc. I really like German tests with machines on lab linked with installation and bleed procedures level of difficult, to archieve a final result. It's impossible, and often polemic, try to pass trail feelling on a online magazine. But you guys are really renewing your article style and its a very good thing to see here.

Great article, very thorough. I'd like to point out a distinction that doesn't show up in any professional reviews, but which has affected thousands of SRAM customers. SRAM, and perhaps other brands, often use different specifications for OEM brakes compared to the aftermarket sets sold separately. In...more

You missed the point here: based on what happens to SRAM Guide, it's too early to review SRAM Code and tell it's a 4.5 stars product. A 5 star is a Shimano Saint/Zee, Magura MT5/MT7, almost zero fail brake, used by inumerous riders. Do some Google with "sram guide stuck lever" terms. Maybe in some regions, where the sun is weak/, climate is cold, this doesn't ocour. But in most warm regions on the planet, SRAM Guide (R/RS/RSC) sucks. Check the comments in SRAM Code Pinkbike article, and you'll read more about SRAM heat problem.

I think you need to wait more until review a SRAM brake. All sites and magazines, they sayed Guide is a new way, a improvement, bad Avid is past, etc. But after months of use, serious piston heat problems begin. SRAM actin? They "upgrade/changing_a_bad_design" of the caliper, make it like the Guide Ultimate. After a few months, the stuck lever problem caused by heat continues, and again, SRAM action?
They create a 2017 "improved/corrected_poor_design_poor_tested" Guide R/RS/RSC with new lever internals.
So, wait wait wait... and to be honest, use Shimano or Magura, to assure you are safe while ride.
