WINNING BIKE: Aaron Gwin's YT TUES

In his post-race interview, Aaron mentioned something about issues with his bike during his run, but that he managed to keep riding. Any info on what that might have been (rim, frame,...)?

This article was fun and led me down the rabbit hole that is re-watching all my favourite runs. Anyways, here's my list. Save it for a rainy Sunday! Sam Hill, Champéry 2007Rémi Thirion, Vallnord 2013Sam Hill, Val Di Sole Worlds 2008Troy Brosnan, Val DI Sole 2015. Exactly the same as Sam: visibly faster than anyone else, gets 3rd ... more »

Not sure why people are downvoting you (although, as a Mick Hannah superfan: f*ck you). "Greatest run of all time" is subjective and depends on what people enjoy. Some like watching underdogs win, some like watching guys win in their own country, some like seeing riders on the ragged edge, or incredibly smooth, or very creative,...
If you enjoy great acts of patriotism, a robot-like ability to perform under pressure, and asperger-level precision, Greg's run is pretty up there in terms of greatest runs ever.

Gwins Windham run 2015 was sick, probably not the best but 3.5 seconds up on a two and a half minute track was pretty cool to watch.

Just gonna throw this out there, Gwin's Val Di Sol run in 2012 was up there.

That was the scariest sh*t I've seen since 2008 worlds. Absolutely ludicrous. All hail the king

I think that all mountain bikers should look at wheel size, like golf clubs. There is now good match for different track conditions & fetures.
Super Ruff 29
Middle ground 27
Super tight and technical 26
Wheal radious will gain benefit based in the trail conditions & features....more

Great article Zach!
Although, when talking about the resurgence of data acquisition in modern times in our sport, I would bring up Remi Thirion in Andorra (2013) before talking about Loic. Manufacturing a new air can overnight because the data suggested more progression was needed in the shock is as close as we've been to Vouilloz levels of nerdyness in recent times.
Pretty much on the other end of the spectrum from Minnaar's garage bounce tests

Last year the riders complained about the man-made rock gardens, saying they were too easy in the dry, and pretty much a gamble in the wet. Well, it looks like the organisers listened to them and removed the rock gardens.
Careful what you wish for...
Either way I'm pumped for another week of epic slideshows and Vital RAWs!
