Yeah, I love that I need a multi-hundred dollar at-home bearing press to replace a regular wear item. Way better than threads. Even better, if I don't have that multi-hundred dollar bearing press on hand, I get to wait for three weeks to make it onto my local shop's service queue to get 20-minutes of work done. It's all upside with press fits.

I have had great customer service from PNW. They already had a class leading warranty, this is even better.

2021 Nukeproof Mega V4 Carbon Custom Build

Yeah, that frame when it becomes widely available to the public will be sold with a Fox X2 air shock which is a good shock, I prefer a coil shock and swapped it over to the Rockshox super deluxe ultimate coil that was tuned specifically for the 62.5 stroke of the mega and my weight, etc.

Welcome to the world of stitched parts. There's a balance between aesthetics and machine time that has to be struck so that you all don't have to pay more than you already do for the link. You tighten up those step overs and run time goes through the roof pretty quick. 0.005" step overs aren't free.

Thanks folks ... still remember meeting Spomer at a NORBA so many years ago and knowing instantly I’d met someone who got this whole MTB thing. Years of Littermag then Vital later and that still holds true! Cheers for the good times on this journey of bikes!

Interesting how many people are focusing on the DW part of the equation. Not taking anything away from the man, they myth, the legend, but I see the (much) bigger deal here being the ability for the Athertons to quickly prototype different geometries, getting a bike to fit them better than anything they've had in the past.

While my previous post focused on the questionable business sense of all this, as a racer, I can't think of anything better than being able to 3D print stuff that vastly alters the geometry allowing the rider to quickly go through a few iterations without new jigs/molds etc.

I'd take a single pivot that fits me perfectly over the most advanced bla bla bla suspension design that is run-of-the-mill fit.

My $0.02

I believe your thinking is correct. In some situations like the video, a telescopic fork won't absorb the initial hit as well or smoothly as the Message but will dive to absorb the landing so the combination of the 2 events sometimes feels harsher on the Message. However under many, or from my experience, most situations the Message is superior. This is especially true under braking. In situations where your braking hard into corners where the braking bumps are more like bomb craters the Message is absorbing the hits and tracking the ground but not diving under the braking force. You're not fighting to try to compensate for the geometry of the bike changing or having your weight thrown forward. You just point and shoot through the corner. It's a pretty awesome feeling, and a was a totally new experience for me.
