Added a comment about video Crawfy Takes the Ripley for a Wee Spin 6/1/2013 1:20 PM

The idea of this video was to show the only Ripley in the UK being ridden on trails that most british riders will recognise (Glentress is well known!) and some of the trails we filmed at were reasonably techy, but a combination of Crawfy and the Ripley make them look tame ;-)

Actually, is that a 29er sb95 at the front? or just the angle of the photo?

They look soooooo sick! Would go very nicely with my Yeti DJ. And that is definitely a carbon version, but I can tell you now, don't get to excited as I know for sure they will be taking their time with it!

Exclusive 2012 e.thirteen Product Sneak Peek

Personally, the new guides and pedals are mint, but I hate the wheels and don't think they are the right direction for e.thirteen to be going in. I am undecided about the cranks.

I felt that as soon as The Hive bought e.13, everything would change, it is. I could see The Hive using e.13 as a brand to market a whole range of mountain bike components just as some of their other brands do. This would be moving e.13 away from their traditional chainrings, guards, bashes etc which I personally thought the brand was in its prime with! I didn't feel moving into other markets within the mountain bike area would be the best thing. I felt e.13 would be better staying with their roots, supplying some of the best, if not the best looking and working guides and chainrings.

I may be talking quite biased, and many people will not agree, but this is my opinion. I won't stop me buying their products, as they still look kick-ass!!!

However, it

Scharney127:

That is a load of RUBBISH! If you were to go off a 50 foot jump/drop/whatever, and case it, then just about every wheelset out there would have some pretty serious damage.

I have said it before, and will say it again, people find it really easy to say that CB are s*it, just because they hear a load of people online talking crap and exaggerating the entire situation. Unlike CB, if a shimano pedal broke, people would accept that. Simply because CB may not have as good a QC department doesnt mean their products are bad. They are far from it!

For what you know, shimano may discard 9 out of 10 pedals they make, you (the consumer) just don't see that...

Nice one Dan! Glad to see you back. Surely though you would have learned that DJing is just as dangerous as DH?

Sam Hill's Prototype Crank Brothers 5050 Pedals

Sven is right. These along with the new mallets will use the same spindles, bearings etc, as the newer eggbeaters. This means that all of crank brothers pedals will use the same component parts, thus reducing costs, which may be passed on to the consumer.

As for snapped mallet spindles, it's a big over reaction. People wouldn't give a fuck if a shimano pedal or component broke, they would just be like "oh hey it's shimano, they were good, I will just buy a new set" but with CB and other manufacturers, if something breaks people go ape-shit and demand replacements etc (clearly not aimed at everyone, majority of people are understanding). You will probably find that shimano have just as many shody parts made, they just don't let them get sold on, so they could have only 5 out of 10 actually being sold for all we know. CB could do with better quality control, but having said that their warranty departments are top notch, especially here in the UK!

Its definitely not a Trek; there is no pivot around the rear axle.
Most likely not a Transition; they tend not to use overly complicated linkage systems, althought the headtube resembles one, the downtube not so much.
Unlikely to be a Foes; definitely not their style, simply because it looks nice.
Doubt it will be Black Market; as their Killswitch is fairly new, new no need to update it, and they are already basing a trail bike around the same design as it.
Doubt it will be an Intense; their Tazer VP has onl recently had an upgrade, and this features no VPP style links, and they would only even use VPP.
Commencal; good shout based on the tuving being similar to the new Supreme V3, although unlikely.
Don't think its a Jamis; they dont seem to venture into jumping/slopestyle, and once again tubing is different from what they tend to do.
Could be an addition to the new Nukeproof line up; resembles their kinda style tubing and rear end.
Almost looks like the original NS Soda; however can't be a new one as they completely changed it in favour of one looking like a Bottlerocket.
Definitely not a Cannondale; they pulled out of this market.

Other than that I haven't a clue what it may be, and the above is just my representation based on current trends for the manufacturers.

Its a poly carbonite inner piece of something or other, pretty sure these weren't meant to be seen!
