Boy am I glad to see the threaded bottom bracket coming back on carbon frames. Having PF is one of the major beefs I have with my current set-up.

Just something to keep in mind BergMann - what year of 36 you are riding has a drastic impact on small bump. This is in part due to compression damping valving & architecture but in my experience has more to do with small tweaks they've made over the years to the air...more

Because these lack an adjustable strap at the bottom, I can't say confidently that they would be a perfect match for your legs. I'd probably say the L/XL based upon your quads. The bottom band measures 11 inches circumstance off the leg in the L/XL. I know Backcountry has them in stock if you want to try them out at the retail store.

Next time you come down south let me know and you can try the L/XL out on the trails.

Cheers dude!

I threw a 230 x 65 shock on my carbine which replaced the standard 230 x 60 size. Went from 155 to 165ish and have loved it.

I wonder if you can put a slightly longer stroke shock on the 5.5 and get an extra 13mm travel out of it?

My jaw dropped as soon as I saw photos of the lyrik on the Kona. Very good looking set-up no doubts there.

Just noticed the new YT Capra 29er comes in two shock stroke options (60mm and 65mm). Immediately checking to see what stroke size comes on the 2018 Intense Carbine, it is, in-fact 60mm. Just out of curiosity if a 65mm stroke would fit, I fabricated

Really interested in your thoughts on the 29" version with 28 spoke pattern. For bigger riders riding rougher terrain, would you still label the Next R wheels as stiff or would you recommend going with a 32 spoke pattern hoop? This was a major concern and one reason I went with a different wheel.

I think you nailed it's purpose for waterbottle cages and other awkward bolts to get to. Be careful going full torque on other bolts (especially 4mm steer pinch bolts on stems) as those bolts might start to strip over time. That would be my only complaint.

Just read that some wheel building shops have been using the 4288 for years and it's been working great so it's probably the same stuff. My wheels came with the 19mm width and that's what they offer for sale on their site. They do make a 24mm width but have to get that elsewhere.

I'm not exactly sure. I tried looking it up but couldn't find out any of that info. Maybe they wouldn't mind chiming in on this?
