These are available in 26" according to pinkbike. Not sure why vital didn't mention this? It's not the first time they've failed to let us know when new tires are offered in 26.. Michelin DH34, and Versus direct sales tires come to mind.

Regardless of what you think about this lawsuit, it's just a taste of what we could see a lot of in the future if we treat E-bikes the same as mountain bikes. We can bicker amongst ourselves as to whether they are motorbikes or not, all that matters is other user groups view them as such. Trail access is everything. Let's not forget that.

A case can be made either way depending on the marketing strategy. Considering E-bikes are almost entirely being sold by mountain bike companies, with current and aspiring mountain bikers as the sales demographic, they are marketed as bikes. I'm sure if E-bikes were being sold by motorbike companies with current, and aspiring moto demographics as the sales target, they would be marketed as motorbikes.

As far as I'm concerned there's no ambiguity. Motor+bike=motorbike. Just imagine if every pedal stroke a tiny gas engine sent a pulse of power to the rear wheel. Do you think the industry could get away with not calling them motorbikes? Does a battery powered electric motor really change this?

It's only stupid if you are riding above your head. These two are clearly skilled, calculated riders that have this stuff on lock. I love watching talented riders show us what can safely be done on mountain bikes. Only a dumbass would go ride lines like this without a foundation of skills built from years of sliding down steeps. Riding steep tech is underappreciated and often misunderstood. Great riding guys!

I still rock his signature 5.10's from time to time.

My derailleur snapped on the first ride. I sent an email many days ago and haven't received a reply. There's no phone number listed on their contact us page. If anyone from Box is reading this check your email or DM me here please.

My experience is the bearings are sealed up well so there is a break in period for that. As for the sprags, they don't touch while coasting so there's no break in period. That's the beauty of the design. The rear spins as freely as the front. I believe Onyx was confirmed via a third party to have the lowest resistance of any hub. Between low drag, silence, and a "soft" instant engagement, Onyx hubs ride like nothing else. When I say "soft" it's something you have to experience to appreciate. The Sprags engage instantly, but there's probably 1 degree or more of a soft feel as the sprags tighten their bite. This creates a soft feel that almost spring loads you forward too. It's very different than anything else I've tried. I've heard this engagement style can prolong your drivetrain because you can't create a harsh transition from coasting to power. I've owned king, i9, hope...... Onyx has made something special that's in a league above everything I've tired.

These weigh basically the same as EXO 2.4's, but the casing is notably thicker? Can you explain how E13 accomplished that?

Another example of how it's 99% rider 1% equipment.

It's Electric! The 27.5+ Specialized Turbo Levo

Moab recently banned ebikes from all non motorized trails: http://www.vitalmtb.com/news/news/Moab-Bans-Electric-Bikes-on-Mountain-Bike-Trails,834

Hopefully other areas follow Moab's example and ban ebikes so there's no ambiguity.

I'm glad you aren't seeing trail access issues where you live. I don't mean this as an insult but you are ignorant of the issues that exist in the US. Ebikes will exacerbate existing issues, and create new ones. This is something that shouldn't be taken lightly.

Tires need to match rim width or the profile is less than ideal. Not sure why this isn't mentioned more by professional reviewers? I assumed tires would start to match wide rims so this won't be another short lived trend like it was when sun ringle offered 30mm+ double wides over a decade ago but we aren't seeing that.
