I LOVE the testing of an XL. Thank you!
Most tests never address the inherent weaknesses of spec on larger bikes and riders. Reality is that to get an XL bike to survive under the bigger and heavier riders usually involves beefier forks , rims, rotors and tires at a minimum. Which add 1-2 lbs over a smaller build.
Not sure your comments about the KS Levs. I have 3 and the first time I installed one it had a cable tension adjustment issue due to my incorrect install. After that they have been completely reliable and w/o any issues.
After having a Yeti SB (very long reach) and many Turners (med reach) . I have settled back into preferring Turner's geo with a slightly longer stem 65mm rather than a 50mm. Steering remains very neutral and front end stays down on the steep stuff and sticks hard in corners. Longer is not always better even for us baby gorillas.
I have had 6 Turners and never had a sqeak. All bushings. Didn't have to spend $200 to rebuild the bearings like my Yeti SB either.
