Best feeling frame kinematic I've ever ridden. The rear wheel hyperactively conforms to the ground vs. pogo sticking (shrinking wheelbase) off each compressive impact. Every physical input into the cranks/shock literally thrusts the bike forward...its a truly incredible feeling on choppy descents. Very predictable movement. The CBF creates a really efficient pedaling platform as well. Listen to the Vital 'Inside the Line' podcast where Kyle Warner interviews Chris Canfield....really helpful MTB kinematic engineering insights are shared>>>
It's not a bicycle unless there's a bell (Spurcycle bell w/Wolftooth Belltower handlebar mount, loud)
DVO Onyx dual crown fork;
-Lowered to the min. from 203mm--->183mm (spacers supplied in 10mm increments)
-20mm axle (fuck you 15mm axles)
-48mm offset
-OTT coil sprung pre-load adjustment is VERY noticeable for improving traction
> > >DVO platform feels phenomenal, dual-crown is stupid stable and in certain situations actually improves uphill pedaling prowess over a single crown—Take that, bike industry (*flips off Dave Weagle*) < > < > < > [...just wish there was a 160-180mm dual crown Onyx as I would love to run 170mm travel but with the same A2C as the taller 170mm Onyx single crown fork]
The Silca tire sealant is legitimately a whole new level of long lasting puncture-prevention technology, Sapim DB race spokes are the strongest offering gram4gram, Spank rims are the most durable aluminum hoops out there, Selle SMP saddles relieve taint pressure the most noticebly, Kovarik Dagga pedals are fucking BAD-ASS grippy & innovative (widest spindle in the industry + specially engineered pedal pins), 160mm forged Canfield cranks really compliment mash-style of grunting up climbs, don't ever let your mechanic talk you out of push-on glue grips (incredible bar feel is worth the spray-paint/wire wrap install), YES those are titanium headset spacers, NO the tubeless lock-nut and valve caps aren't made of ti (pity), NO there's not any titanium stem/rotor bolts, YES a (heavier) 210mm OneUp dropper could be in my future
...and YES there is a skull on the bikes head tube (sick nasty).
Height: 5'8.5" (+2" ape) and 155-165lb (70-75kg) geared up
HMU to ride/collaborate/raise hell if you're around the PNW (Bellingham, Washington zone)
