I agree with that. In this case, there are certainly more moving parts, but I don't see how the design decouples the anti-rise from anti-squat any more than any other Horst/four-bar and it doesn't make the movement of the instant centre any more volatile, because the extra linkages are only driving the shock. As far as I understand it, it's a standard four-bar in which there are simply more parts in the shock linkage, and judging from the leverage curve, they don't appear to do very much different anyway!.

"Over-the-air firmware updates"

Does this mean there is a chance that the bike could get bricked after a crashed update?

The "six bar" claim is pure marketing wank, surely?

And the leverage curve flattening out being described as "bottom-out resistance". Unless I'm confused, which is always likely...

Rovals are softer than cheese, utter crap on an $11K bike

Yes we are working on that at the moment. Our goal is to have the first bike with every drivetrain option available.

if stature is taken into account (with assumptions being made regarding saddle height), rider weight to bike weight ratio may be just right!

The internals of the hub felt like they weren’t engaging properly under hard pedaling, so the cranks would turn a few degrees without turning the hub before catching again, only to slip slightly again a turn or two later. It was noisy and made it impossible to really pick up any speed. Given DT Swiss’s...more

"Rear hub weirdness (Giga). This happened only on the last test ride, but the DT Swiss rear hub exhibited some odd behavior under hard pedaling that was difficult to replicate, but a little unsettling regardless."

I'd love you to describe what you were experiencing!

It's weird that they don't come out and say that e-bikes are obviously the reason this exists. I kept reading it and wondering why they released this weird niche product... oh yeah! E-bikes.

Is that the new Oompa Loompa kit from Endura?

Great review. Looked like a blast riding. Definitely concur with the 5 Star rating. Aside from maybe having a chip out back to shorten or extend the CS length, they pretty much nailed the Geo, Spec, & Price on this thing. Just need an extra $6K and I'm in wink

Pro tip for home gamers: if you buy something on the internet and pay using Paypal, you can claim a refund on return shipping costs through its "Refunded Returns" program. Limits probably vary by country but in Australia it's up to $45, eight times per year.

Added reply in a thread What's with high pivots? 4/7/2021 5:11 AM

The Norco Shore. Its pivot is high enough to require an idler, but not so high (relative to the rear axle at rest) that it has a fully rearward axle path. Edit: Or the 2022 Trek Session, same deal. It's rearward through only the first ~50% of travel. ... more »

I think the big miss here is the wheelset. An X2 would definitely make more sense but the dpx2 has consistently punched above it's weight in the most recent iteration from my personal experiences. Those deore brakes also are rock solid with metallic pads and seem to have less of a...more

All bike brands should also publish actual seat angle and offset so we can easily calculate our top tube length at our preferred saddle height, but I'm guessing 60 something seat angle doesn't look good on paper.

You might want to find some whiteout if you haven’t used it all up for the rear tire logo to keep the sponsors happy. You obviously realize performance cant always pay and sometimes needs to be bought
