Ah shoot, dang it! Like Tannus said earlier, there’s holes every 6” to let the sealant out. I swapped out a tire last Saturday and all the remaining sealant was in the tire itself, and the insert doesn’t absorb sealant. I doing know if the ARD does or not, but hopefully between these two factors you don’t find any Stanimals!

Sorry, can't reply to the other question for some reason. I had a string of bad luck with Stan's, so I've been using Orange Seal exclusively for the past couple years. I'm sure I'll get around to trying the newer Race sealant eventually, but it's a tough sell when Orange just works.

I've been on them for about 6 months, (left a full review in the product section) and I'd say no more clumping than normal. I use Orange Seal Endurance, and after swapping out a tire last week there was a healthy amount of sealant left, to my surprise. The Endurance formula seems to last quite a while.

I’ve heard of Velcro on the caller as well. How does the glue on the Velcro hold up to heat though?

Have you tried non-finned pads? The finned pads make a ton of noise, from rattling against the caliper.

One could also question the tire alignment in relation to the stem. Some consider it heresy to have the valve stem anywhere but between the two Maxxis X’s!

I don’t disagree with you, and I just mentioned the DHF as it’s the most popular or one of the most popular in this category from Maxxis. This space has gotten more competitive though

Edit: I’ll also add I respect your experience, you’ve been around longer than I have, and I know you’ve been on more options that I have. Cheers!

This is just my opinion, and I completely get it if I get a lot of heat for it, but it feels like the DHF is becoming what the Nevegal became - highly praised and widely loved, but too many other good options started popping up to just stick with it for traditions sake. It’s a tough problem to have, having so many good choices.

Matt, I haven’t tried the Helldiver, but the Hellkat is another rad option! Tons of grip and they roll decently. I did shear a side knob on the rear a bit prematurely, but I think I’ve done that on every tire. Highly recommended. I’m anxious to try the new Pinner. Just waiting for my current tires to die first.

People seem to love or hate E13s, and I love them. Especially at a front tire. Not the fastest rolling for sure, but for my trails and my riding the cornering grip is insane. Can’t go wrong with Magic Mary’s though!

Tires are a fun disposable to play around and experiment with.

Makes sense. I haven’t tried a DH casing up front yet, I have to run a DD/equivalent out back for durability, but can get away with Exo/equivalent out back. The downside is that the softer casing usually comes on the DH tire. I’ll have to give that a try!

Maybe to test the softer compound for grip and lighter casing for durability?
