This I think requires high precision machined outer tubes, which is not that feasible on the cast magnesium lowers everybody use. Also it would require a removable sleeve to get the floating bushing out. The Reverb works like that. One inner and one

If you look at an earlier post from Flyinflo21, you get a closeup of the crown. Looks burlier for sure with larger interface with the stanctions than lyrik (eyeballing it). From the pic above, it also seems that the lowers go a bit below the axle, as ... more »

I see what they are trying to do here. First we had Öhlins who have their signature yellow spring. Then Fox with their signature orange spring. Then Rockshox came along with their signature red spring. Formula have shown their purple spring and now DVO ... more »

the HV air can will be better suited to progressive bikes to have a decent sag and be able to use the travel. if you have a linear bike, you end up with less sag to ensure not bottoming out if the spring is linear as well.

XX1 and X01 are both top tier groups, where XX1 is more weight tuned for XC, with X01 more or less the same with a bit burlier build for trail and enduro.

I see the SID Ultimate to be a contender for Fox 34 SC, not overlap the Pike. And the Pike will be in the same segment as Fox 34.

This may also imply an air cartridge inside the fork with smaller piston size, which will imply a higher pressure. I cannot see that this is desirable, as that will also put a lot of load on the seals. But I guess Fox have done their math and tested ... more »

Most probably a pressure relieve valve.

The ACS-3 has an air bumper, no hydraulics. This is one of the main differences to the Smashpot. I had the ACS-3, and it was good, but I barely used the bottom out bumper (next to no pressure in it). I see the point in getting more pop out of a progressive ... more »

Avalanche has used hydraulic bottom out on their cartridges for ages. I actually had to take it out of my girlfriend's Boxxer, as she could not use the travel with the softest coil.
