Added reply in a thread Would a Mullet bike set up make hitting jumps easier?? 8/18/2020 1:20 PM

What sort of jumps are you talking about? If you are dirt jumping in the traditional sense, a hardtail 26" or BMX bike are going to be best and make a really big difference for your comfort and ability compared to the Sentinel you're riding (not that ... more »

The nomad has paper tires that need to be replaced before a parking lot test. The Ibis looks awesome.

Not defending it but he was able to pedal to the top, no uplift. Try that on a traditional DH is the point.

I would like to know this answer as well! ^ I don't enjoy how much throw there is until pad contact and it forces me to run my levers farther out than I would prefer.

65 should be seen as 'about average' for any mtb in 2020. You wait, in 2022 the Reactor Mk2 will have this 'revolutionary' new geometry.
Face, palm...

I've actually got a Vitus Mythique and it's great now I fitted a Superstar -2 angle set.
At least you used a 44/56mm head...more

Yet another brand new high end bike that requires an angle set straight out of the box. Why are we still obsessed with near-vertical head angles?
It's 2020, I thought we'd been through this?

To be clear: 66.8 is not, has never been, and will never be what should be considered...more

New tires, brake pads and/or rotors, or a new seat if the current one is not comfortable for 1hr + rides. Brakes are the things I am most particular about and new pads can completely and positively change the feel of your bike. A good set of Galfer metallic ... more »

The races have less than 10,000 entrants between all disciplines. They see more than 75,000 additional spectators. I’m suggesting that they hold the races as scheduled, but postpone the trade show where people are clamoring over each other for free stickers and funnel cake

Don't forget Charlie's 4th at Maribor and Gwin's 5th at Leogang! Also Amaury's run at Les Gets was one of the best I've ever seen, the left hander he jumped into alsmost missing the rut in the top half was just insane (along with every other corner on the hill). It was hands down the most French race run ever given Bastille day, being in France, and being so, so commited.

They are all combined times, it's just that stage one was the longest, between 1.5 and 2.5 times further distance than the other stages.

Kiran MacKinnon (works for SC) using the same idea: shorter reach, backwards buzzworks and longer stays. He and I talked about it at Tamarack and he thinks it's all relation of body weight/position to BB. he also thinks longer reach is yanking riders too far forward these...more

477mm rear end, and interestingly they got rid of the Buzzworks headset to make the front end 8mm shorter. All my life I've heard how short chainstays corner better, but Greg seems to be doing fine on the limousine. I hope all the engineers at SC talk to each other, because...more

This would be a really fun race course! Off camber loose rock turns, jumps to flat, dry blown out berms, and long sprints before entering incredibly rough sections are the reason I love downhill.

I'm disappointed to see the large inboard bearing, you'll end up standing on it at some point in a race run and it will keep your shoes from full pin penetration. My favorite part of the old pedals was the uncompromising grip (with the longer than standard pins) no matter where your foot was placed and the uninterrupted platform was the main reason for that. The lack of a raised inboard bearing on the old pedal essentially afforded me an extra and necessary 10ish mm of usable platform for my larger than average foot wearing 5.10 Impact shoes. What is the platform size on the new Plus model pedals and are longer pins available from E-13?

Don't be a dick. This is a good thing, a rider can race every discipline on a short travel 29er now.
