Well said and laid out. Especially the part where modern doping is all about pushing the boundaries using the banned substance guidelines, WADA lists, etc... I find that part sad, really sad. But again, as enduro is a sport where you need to be fit and

I tend to see this whole story as you do JimmyPop. Seems like people, meaning people involved in mtb who genuinely seem to like the athletes under suspicion, are ready to stick their head on the tree and loose sight of the forest. It was a real test, ... more »

Added a comment about product review Vital Rides the New Race Face Turbine R Dropper Post 4/18/2018 5:57 AM

Look RF does, and has always been doing, great cranks, stems and bars. But the previous Turbine was such an epic fail, even though it licensed a known 2 work tech from 9.8. How do we know this one will be better? They will have to turn it around like CrankBro did with the Highline to regain confidence from the market. Btw, why no noise on the OneUp dropper release??? Are you guys stuck in Trinidad, Colorado!!!?!??!?!!

Is it me or old Hans sounds a bit sour about the whole game??? And, Spomer, he was about the unleash some crunchy info about how European trial riders were better then the Ryan Leef, Jeff L. era here but lacked exposure. Would have loved a bit of controversy / different opinions!! Great, pod, probably my favorite one to date with the Stickman one. Old heads make the best interviews for sure. Thanks guys

Great dude, amazing athlete, 100% pro. That being said, I don't know how I feel about him asking for the questions ahead of time. I get where he's coming from, and he is smart in that he really cares about the image he's putting to the public.

Ironically though, its this...more

I feel you 100% and I had the exact same thought when he said that at the beginning of the interview. I'm like, he's an absolute crusher, no doubt, but DH racing is an ultra-niche sport with a descent amount of coverage, but that ultimately touches a only handful of people in the general population. Does Steve Ballmer get the questions in advance when he goes on Simmons' podcast? Or anybody for that matter? The real flavor gets out when adversity is mixed with a good dose of humility, honesty and humor. And you simply can't get that with a scripted interview. It's ok for a print interview, of course, but the whole point of this podcast isn't getting somebody to talk freely on diverse subjects linked to mtbing? A recap of AG's diet isn't crunchy enough, or could be printed and make a good read. What about enduro? Minnaar's take on it?

The whole interview is great, as usual, but I much prefer hearing people speaking candidly on stuff than knowing that they thought about their answer PRIOR to the actual taping of the podcast

Cool episode... this episode is co-sponsored by Rad and Knarly

Remember seeing Duncan at a race @ Sears Point raceway back in 2004ish... red jersey... yeah, he was fast & class.

Was wondering about something you said Duncan and wondering if you can clarify a bit because you...more

So does this replace the A1 as an all-mountain/enduro helmet or it's more of an XC orientated helmet? I can't understand the segmentation of this product compared to the A1??

Best mtb movie since Earthed 1. Thank god somebody understood that rad riders having fun on their bikes warrants a film more than an array of freeriders filmed with expensive slo mo cams.

Added a comment about feature The Ultimate Guide to 'Metric' Shock Sizing and the RockShox Super Deluxe 4/9/2016 7:11 AM

I see your point. It's a definite evolution of an old standard that came to be in an era of non-standardized designs and suspension setups. I can't help myself but to think that, at the moment, it's a clear benefit for SRAM, they obviously did their homework regarding the actual tech that could be changed and improved in a shock, but what about the other suspension manufacturers? I had some discussions yesterday with people working these other manufacturers and they said it's logical and coherent evolution, but can't see a definite change on the actual product they put out there except the change on how length and stroke are referred to in terms of metric and imperial measures.

I'm afraid they are gonna standardize the shock lengths, but not the actual tech in the shocks; or maybe it's more of long shot deal like it's written in the article.

And what about Fox? They are a big player, but get no mention in the article?

Anyway I'm curious to see the evolution of that whole thing. I see much more potential in this then the "boost" evolution for rear triangles. Now if somebody can write an article as good as this one on why in the world they didn't use the 150mm standard instead of creating a 148mm standard!...
