Not sure I'm allowed to link this here :D https://www.pinkbike.com/news/lee-mccormacks-guide-to-perfect-bike-set-up.html But they confirm it in that article.

Reach is a stupid number that doesn't properly represent the actual length of a cockpit. I think Chris Porter said it best, "It'd be helpful if people were shaped like a set-square". My old SB-66c in XL had a 455mm reach on it. My current bike, a Large ... more ยป

Also back on the old linkage of the Gambler in that shot, not the prototype rocker he was running all season.

Thanks for chiming in dude! The only reason I swapped to a GRIP 36 is offset on my Slash. (doing some playing around)

Otherwise, I agree 100% with your observations.

Well it was critic, but not a harsh one, since comparison is just a part of the whole review. The rest was very good.

The weight might actually be a big factor. I'm below 70kg in my riding gear. I guess that's 140lbs or so and you really notice the weight of stuff, even...more

Hey man, be a critic! I don't mind whatsoever. Its how we get better eh!?

I don't disagree they are in the same category, I just think they are *all* in the same category. Metric, Lyrik, 36, Durolux, etc etc.

Where I disagree is that 1/2 of a pound of non-rotating...more

Hey Jeff, that was not ment as a harsh critic. I just red the review of the Metric a few years ago right here on Vital and since both forks fall in the same category (yes, the evil word, but since the Durolux is somewhat a shrunk down RUX and the Metric is a shrunk down...more

According to SR Suntour, this fork was designed for any kind of aggressive mountain bike riding. To over-segment forks into more categories, seems futile to me, and more for the marketeers than the riders.

I haven't ridden X-Fusion stuff since their scraped launch of the...more

I was running a the 650b RC2C on my Yeti SB5c, and have just received an order of the 29er version to replace the Fox 36 on my Trek Slash.
The bleed ports are almost redundant because of how easy the fork is to perform a lowers service; they're an absolute joy to work on!! The lowers drop easily, removing the air spring assembly is a matter of breaking 10Nm thread tension with spanner and unscrewing it (not fiddling with some oily, flat circlip in a recess like with competition).
Tuning wise, the R2C2 does take a fair bit of fiddling to find the sweet spot, the air volume adjustments have a pretty dramatic effect on the ramp up, and the compression and rebound settings all have fairly significant jumps in their steps. I did find that once it was dialed in, I preferred the performance to any other fork in my garage (money where my mouth is, I'm replacing Fox Factory forks in favour of the Durolux).

The only other thing I thought I'd mention is the stock mud guard, is a fairly stiff plastic. I do a lot of dry weather riding and use these more as a rock guard against strays that want to flick up on my stanchions (and keep dust off my seals); and noted that when getting hit with harder objects, the plastic proved a little more brittle and was prone to cracking.

Couldn't agree with the review more! The only thing the competition have this fork beaten with is the scales.

I went ahead and uploaded photos of it with the S-Works cranks on and then listed the XTR Cranks that are now on it. I only did it to show a coil fits on it anyway.
