Maybe a little late, but the comparison I'm looking for isn't here, or in any test I've seen.

What is the maximum rail/post angle the saddle nose can be tilted down? I have a slack seat tube angle and have bottomed out the front bolt on my giant dropper, I'm shopping for a longer one (likely OneUp) but want to be sure I'll be able to lower the nose enough.

Awesome work. I'm using the kids as an excuse for my old parts hoard.

Oh, another one on my bike. OneUp upper guide, with the outer plate dremelled off to clear my bash ring. I like the idea of a taco bash, but those little ISCG tabs don't take it like a crank spider can. (Why don't people use bash rings anymore? Somehow ... more »

The BMX stem is mad genius. So simple.

Huh. I had a Pike 409 and had no idea what the number referred to. Nice.

I'm using an XT shifter with the ratchet tooth filed off and release trigger removed as a dropper lever. Simple but effective.

I believe new Thomson stems use 3mm allen heads. I've always loved Thomson but the new stem bolts are horrible.

Do you mean 36cm reach? No way that thing is longer than a Pole.

Hey Noah, I'm waiting (corona shipping speed) on a progressive spring, and this - "Furthermore, our Progressive springs have a max stroke of 65mm, so if you're using them on 50 or 52.5mm stroke shocks, you're actually missing a bit of the progressive ... more »

2 generations-old cranks - presumably because you're a fellow believer that 104 BCD and 50mm chainline is better than modern so-called standards. I been bangin on about this for ages

Banshee Titan Mullet

The 980 /985 is the best Shimano crank ever (fight me).
104bcd, normal tension and pinch bolt fitting, and with the 3x version space for a bashring...

Ah, sure. Well, the one year parts warranty is a start, not sure that it'll cover operator error. Otherwise the OPs idea to replace the arm is fast and cheap.

Do you mean the pedal thread? A good bike shop should be able to fit a heli coil in to save your current crank. Then next time pay more attention to which pedal you're fitting, and which way the thread goes.

Now that the usual pearl-clutchers have weighed in about crush washers and the dangers of lubricating with lubricants how about give it a go and report back how it went (crazy idea, I know). Let Spomer and I know if we get to stay off the kill list for another year.

I would assume it was from the hot rotor and holding the fork between the legs.
