Added reply in a thread Dropper Post recommendation (or warning) 12/20/2019 1:19 PM

Have you serviced the giant dropper? It's easy to do, and improves the action significantly. Also, costs a lot less than a new post.

Most of the builds on here are boring Yetis with AXS and Code RSCS. Yours is different and I like it. You have taste.

That drivetrain was under $150... and the bike is 6 yrs old so why put expensive brand new parts on to send it... so cool story bro!

11 spd with an 11-50 cassette... a freeride bike to hit jump lines not to climb lame xc hills. Get some legs guys! The entire bike was put together from pinkbike's buy/sell ads minus the wheelset & frame. Braaaap

Except for the part where MTB's aren't allowed on many trails in the future because of way way more bike traffic. Also, the barrier for entry will be virtually gone. Real MTB is hard...that's why a lot of people don't do it. But now a lot of people will be out there that don't care and/or are...more

It's obviously going to be under wraps for a while, but curious to know what the benefits of the new Fox shock are and what it is doing differently than the current X2. Is it going to be better for the cah cah cah waah or help me during the totototozum kuuung?

Added reply in a thread doubt on spring length fox sls 8/21/2019 3:33 PM

Maximum spring length is whatever will physically fit - measure your shock, then give yourself 5-10mm of wiggle room just in case. Minimum is a number higher than the shock stroke - if it's a 2.25" stroke, you need a 2.3" + written on the coil. Going ... more »

SPD, Crank Bros, or other? I'm a fan of the Shimano DX for all round bulletproofness, or the DMR V-twin for some extra platform...

I'm all about the playing around with shiz, a firm believer in setup being the best bang for the buck upgrade available. But stacking spacers to try a higher front (which I've done) also decreases reach (lose 5mm for every 10mm of spacers under the stem ... more »

OK, that's fair reasoning for higher bars when climbing. But I don't set my bikes up primarily for climbing, and I find I prefer a low stack for descending. Any other reasons?
