Dammit, I think you're right.

Ooo, there's some cool lever blades on Jaxson Riddle's Saints. And Semenuk's got that fancy short cage XX1 AXS mech on again. Some pics here...

I know it sounds flippant, but its really easy with the genuine Magura kit (not the pro kit though) and with the Magura methods. They have pretty good tech videos and docs on their site. The amount of people I know that have issues and its always because

I have exactly the same Shigura setup at the moment. Love the power and feel (my fingers provide the modulation when I need it) but I have to do regular lever bleeds (despite finding no leaks anywhere). Despite trying all of the Magura levers, I didn't ... more »

So, just 5 years then. The 17 Trance's were on the current bolt setup and they were first available in 2016.

Maestro hasn't been like that for a good while now (at least 5 years). Just a 19mm spanner (iirc) and an 8mm hex to remove the lower shock bolt.

Since when were prototypes not allowed to have any issues?

One of the beauties of AXS is that you can program the button function to suit whatever components are fitted to your bike. So it could be dropper or suspension or even gears

More importantly, the left hand AXS shifter finally looks like it might have a paddle on the rear

Sorry man, but several of my friends had them (SB5/6) when we were guiding in the Alps. They got good deals from Yeti back then. Everyone went through at least 1 swingarm and all had significant wear on the link despite very regular maintenance (full ... more »

A few trashed bearings are way cheaper to replace than a proprietary Kashima infinity link.

Do stop trying to come up with fancy ways of saying bike. Its bike and ebike. We don’t need anything more. Not “acoustic”. Not “analog” (or analogue). Not “pedal only”. Inventing new ways of saying bike just makes us all look like cretins. Surely you ... more »

Yes. I don't even know if that was my fault or Steve Job's autocorrect

Looks like Cero (Unno) are going into the ebike game. They're recruiting an electronic engineer "to control lightning"

Reply to MTB Tech Rumors and Innovation 9/6/2021 10:52 AM

I'd say it's more so that the ebike system can communicate with the mech so it can help adjust the assistance levels when it auto modes... and also display info on the computer. Shimano can do it with steps and Di2, so its about time Sram came up with ... more »

It does look very like a 'Live Valve' plug, but they'll have worked wonders if they've managed to pack all the extra stuff in what looks like a standard shock. Pic for comparison:

Anyone else notice the new cam on Danny Hart’s 2 finger Magura lever… quite different to the current one. And it looks like they’ve got rid of the tiny breakaway tab too. (pic of his levers not on this site though, sorry)

Or just improve manufacturing tolerances and bearing issues are significantly reduced.

ha, yes yes it is. Not carbon repair tape then
