9.5 eye to eye is the "standard" length for DH shocks. 9.5-3s are by far the most commonly designed shocks into frames.

Yep. We'll have a tent by the hot dog stand. Come check out the bikes and take one for test lap.

Cheap, simple, dialed geo, and reliable. More DH bikes should be like this. None of that bullshit with the new standards that are designed just to make you spend more money. A+

Complete build weights are listed on RideGG.com, in the link above for the build kits. Note that some include pedals and some do not. My personal bike pictured above is 36.5lbs as shown, for weight reference.

Really interested in this trail frame you have brewing. I just wish I had more use for a DH frame in FL, but, you know. No mountains and what not....

As a Coloradan and DH rider, I have to say right on! Nice article, Vital, and great job GG. The pic in the article of Matt on the bike is from Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City, Nevada--a place that has uniquely gnarly and challenging terrain. If you haven't ridden at...more

Thanks! And, yeah Bootleg is gnarly! I had to stare at the Poop Chute for a bit before riding that thing.

I've used CB pedals for years, and if these have the reliability improvements they claim, they'll have a winner. Removing the stress concentrations on the spindle seems like it should remove one of the failure modes I've experienced in the past (spindle snapped at an abrupt change in spindle diameter).
The stiffer spring for clipping in will be a nice bonus as well. Let's hope these have the reliability improvements promised.
