Keep in mind these photos represent an accurate cross section of typical forum experts..Mismatched and unnecessary protective gear coupled with a mix of baggy and lycra "kit", overstuffed backpack for a 1/4mile loop, elbows down, ass...more

This ^. I would recommend one day at as many bike parks as possible vs multiple days at one place. Keystone, Steamboat, Trestle/Winter Park, Crested Butte, etc are all fun.

The Guerrilla Gravity Megatrail already has that sort of change with Trail Mode and Gravity Mode. Geometry, travel and leverage curve all change by moving one bolt. Vital has already ridden it: http://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Frames,7/Guerrilla-Gravity/2014-Megatrail,14284

Correct, medium cage length is required to handle the chain slack from the 31t spread (42-11). The B-screw setting is what determines whether the derailleur physically clears the BFC or not.

To all the size skeptics I say ride the bike. I originally thought the same thing that everyone is commenting about but after riding the bike. I'm 5'10" and will be buying a medium.

Size Large Stumpjumper: 24.5" ETT, plus what appears to be about 1.5" of offset at the seatpost and what appears to be a 70mm stem. Adding those extra lengths makes for a butt-handlebar length that's about 2" longer than the Small Megatrail.
