Really nice bike and impressive weight as well.
What a great technical post. Thanks for doing this.

Really enjoy this sort of testing. Thanks for doing it.
Of course the Peanut Gallery will take this info and try to apply it to their AM bikes, which isn't quite as clear cut with gravity and all.

E-bikes are a hazard on my local trails (CTX) because we are bi-directional, tight & windy, getting a bit crowded and beginners tend to gravitate towards e-bikes. Also, they are just way too much power for the space we have. They are also specifically ... more »
I know, I just promised my wife I would slow down on the bike spending lol!
Will you warranty my tires if I buy your link and ride extra fast and get flats? HAVE YOU TESTED FOR THAT?!?!
I too have an Evo and it sure blows through the travel quickly, on the stock air shock and on the EXT shock. I have the Cascade link on the way.

Batteries are actually painted and the XX1 logos are vinyl stickers :-)
Where’s waki
The old frames broke due to poor design/manufacturing. Factor of safety was much too low. They don't have that issue anymore. If you swap the link on a bike that's going to break anyway it will still break so not really a good example. In fact if you made...more
Enjoying these a lot.
I'm finding the longer the CS the better (for my XL sized bike) and this is on a trail bike. Front traction without all the extra work of heavily weighting the front is the reason.

Mine is 30 lbs on the nose with a similar build
Another suggestion for getting weight on the front wheel: a longer stem. I'm not advocating people go crazy and throw and 90mm behemoth on the front of their bike, but switching from a 35/40mm stem to a 50, you'll likely find it much easier to weight the front wheel with the same stack height.
How much progression (maybe a % range) in a rear LR is appropriate to run a coil shock for a much less than Pro speed rider, but still aggressive?
Thanks

Take this with a grain of salt (because I'm 190 pounds and ride like a bag of wrenches), but I used the MegNeg on a 2019 Sentinel and still found the rear suspension wanting. Even with the MegNeg I still had to choose between running the sag I wanted and...more
The MegNeg upgrade for RockShox air shocks seems to have a similar goal in mind (more mid-stroke support and bottom-out resistance from bikes with relatively linear leverage rates), but costs roughly 1//3 as much as the Cascade link. Of course, the CC link...more
The Kravenz has 180% AS without the negative effect of Pedal Kickback that high AS produces with other designs. Not sure what you are talking about when you say...well everything you typed.

33lbs is a great weight for this kind of build
