Agreed with @sspomer - there is limited space to build, and I've judged similar competition formats once upon a time in the big mountain freeskiing realm... My thoughts:
If you built it, you should know every inch of it better than someone 'poaching' it, thus you have no excuse not to ride it better and score better.
If a few people ride the same exact line, the one who rode it better should score better, this is a judged competition. Of course there are politics involved, but this is the basis of a judged event. If you can't handle it, go race where the clock doesn't politic, discriminate, or lie.
Overall, with limited space this is a ridiculous pissing contest. If I was one of these guys getting yelled at for 'poaching', I'd want to ride it out of spite and say "ok here's the deal, I'm going to ride it with your permission or not, so I can either bring my crew to help dig, or I'll sit back and watch you dig, save my efforts, and still ride it."

You know what a real champion would do?? Be a cool calm professional & gentleman; happily let anyone ride it / help if they can, and then go out and throw down the best run without bitching about 'poaching.' Arrive on the top step of the podium with all the riders happy for you, no questions about politics or lines, just knowing you won the day.

Hey Brandon,
Where does the FMB stand in all this? They are the governing body of the FMB world tour which rampage is a part of and I haven't seen them do anything for any of the riders. They have nothing about concussions in their rule book. Also, what about the third party event management team that is hired out to manage the event? I believe they're called H5Events ( http://www.h5events.com/ ). There's many stakeholders in creating rampage and i feel the FMB and whatever Event management team who handles the event should have some responsibility when things aren't planned or looked after. (e.g.- Letting Rogatkin ride again, not having any regulations about concusssions etc). Imagine how much shit would be given to an events management team who didn't provide traffic management for a marathon. Every stakeholder who benefits from someone's pain is a shit one.

Ever heard of the Eastern States Cup? Ya know, the one almost exclusively in VT, NJ and NY? That might be what you're looking for because those of us in the Mid-Atlantic were thinking the exact same thing after seeing their schedule. The names "Eastern States" and "Gravity East" could easily be made more specific.... Something like "The Mid Atlantic Series" and the "Yankee-Fest Bro Party" would probably be a much better description smile

No kidding. Talk about conquering demons. That takes quite a bit of personal fortitude to face something like that down, and if you ask me, it's one of the most amazing things - the personal effort and the results it yields - irrespective of the sport itself. You really have to raise yourself to a certain level of focus - or state of being - or whatever you want to call it - to overcome something like that. MTB provides pretty cool circumstances for it though.

No kidding. These racers have my full respect.

And as good as the Enduro format looks, it seems almost like DH racing - on trail bikes - with a bunch a fatigue piled on top. Then throw in minimal practice rounds... Enduro roulette.

This is a good tip!

The point of the tip is not to keep the chain or upper derailleur pulley out of the spokes, as some of the comments would lead you to believe. This is valuable for the lower pulley and cage of your derailleur interacting with the spokes when either your derailleur or wheel gets out of sorts.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
