Reply to Can we get battery-less electronic components on bikes? 1/16/2022 1:44 PM

If a dyno in a hub could work surely something similar could be built into a gearbox transmission, like a pinion or something? Makes it more contained and more central for distribution to other parts of the bike via wires Another interesting concept ... more »

Yeah if I understand, you should be able to use that adapter with any DM stem? Not sure what benefit that might give unless you are changing forks every other weekend but I guess someone might find it useful

It's possible that the effects he is feeling are due to braking/dragging brakes, which does inherently affect the suspension on a single pivot design more than most others. Maybe a floating brake mount is what is actually needed?

I wonder if we will see a new Slash with the high pivot from the DH bike eventually?

For self shuttling your DH bike to the top of the hill and in case you wanna use a dual crown for enduro. Both outlying cases but just curious...

It would already fit the rear shock, I wonder if the fork mount would work on a Boxxer?

The buttercup is likely a response to the EXT and DVO small coil springs that improve initial sensitivity. I do agree with you though that in both cases, small coil or buttercup, it will have to be targeted at a specific rider weight zone that will not ... more »

I get your concern regarding racing this stuff, but live valve has already bean raced in XCO on the pivot bikes and this AXS stuff has been raced in EWS… if you’re at the sharp end this could make the 0.2sec difference between 1st and 2nd (like Bruni ... more »

Yup, I think he’s right 🤦🏻‍♂️

Rebound adjuster seems to be inline at the top of the shock while compression adjuster is similar to the X2 style.

The old X-wing Spez enduro also put a lot of load on the shock, both sideways from flex and vertically in compression. A great bike for it’s time, but very flexy by today’s standards

Is it just me or is the new yeti ebike suspension design strikingly similar to the new Commencal DH bike just with the dogbone joining the upper link in a different place? I think the Commencal might have a floating shock though, can’t remember…

I think he is looking at the telemetry readings on his phone

Reply to MTB Tech Rumors and Innovation 9/2/2021 8:14 AM

I think that is likely more in relation to anti-squat values on non idler designs than related to derailleur clutch resistance. Those pivot points at the chain line above the bottom bracket are usually located there to stop pedal bob

In these pics it looks like the pistons are the same size, so either the new lever is being used with the E4 caliper or maybe that is a newer caliper with both pistons the size of the larger one from the V4?

Reply to MTB Tech Rumors and Innovation 8/20/2021 1:29 PM

I know they have a slick looking road/gravel flat mount brake out and that high pivot frame proto Something stronger than the V4 would interest me though… I think Trickstuff has been stealing a lot of the brake attention that Hope used to get.

Review of Kovarik’s Tracer 279 over on the other site, sounds like they still haven’t settled on some of the angles. Mullet, 170mm front and rear

Isn’t split pivot still under DW license or has that expired?
