In my opinion, It’s highly unlikely that Spec would move to a dual link suspension design after so recently launching the new demo/enduro design. The enduro isn’t yet due for an upgrade either, although there have been rumors of a battery powered version ... more »
RS AXS LiveValve? Or at least remote suspension adjustment?
That top pic looks to me like the standard Der Kaiser that has been on the market for awhile now, but I may be wrong?
What if you could have wireless LiveValve that you could completely bypass if you wanted or completely lock out from the press of a button, no cables. And it would give you suggestions on your phone app like the shockwhiz on how to improve your suspension ... more »
It would be nice if they would all get together and discuss things so as to put some standards in place going forward before everyone goes ahead and develops their own proprietary stuff that doesn’t integrate with the others or popular apps etc.
Im curious, are those idler wheels THAT inefficient? Are we talking like the extra bit of drag from a gearbox vs standard system or like belt drive vs chain? Exactly how much less efficient is an idler system?
Isn’t that the same bike the younger Norco riders were riding at Crankworks earlier this year?
Maybe now that the Spez partnership has ended, Giant is looking to spec some OEM Ohlins? Commencal and many other brands are already speccing some of it but Giant would no doubt be a lucrative contract for the Swedish gold
Is that blacked out Ohlins suspension on Marcelo’s build? He’s still a giant sponsored rider even though he retired right? https://youtu.be/l7GNEuW6EeY
I wonder if SC would be open to doing some limited edition releases similar to Commencal has done with maybe a DVO or Ohlins kit and some special finishes
I’m not ragging on it, I’m just a bit disappointed because the nomad has always been a bit of an iconic bike and SC has just given this new version the face-lift treatment, but then again, I guess V3 nomad was the big move across to the new platform ... more »
Who could have guessed it would have a 38/zeb with the current SC suspension design rolling on reserve wheels... but probably 10mm longer, 1 degree slacker and 10% more progression with a slightly steeper seat angle?
I heard giga might be delayed till Jan
Interesting choice of rear damper there...
Cheating is maybe the wrong term, anyone could have used a rear lockout like many did in Cairns and he manually adjusted his front fork compression with his hand... Unless being smart is considered cheating?
Just having the longer fork raises the bars enough to take some weight off of your hands
Aggy did rampage on a modded Enduro bike with a dual crown
Nothing to back this up but maybe Saracen is having to cut racing budget and Danny is a hot ticket item...
Most likely due to the aversion to chain growth and the use of idlers that has prevailed until now. Since the Supreme has started winning, the trend towards high pivots has been returning. I'm keen to see a new refinement of the dual link high pivot ... more »
Did TREK really “steal” it or did they pay for it? genuinely asking.
