Whether it needs it or not, I think RS is coming under marketing pressure to release a 38 Boxxer, so it’s not really surprising…

Without trying to sound disrespectful, considering Jeff got Cero involved with the last kinematic updates, I'm not sure Jeff does the designs himself, I suspect his strong point is in the fabricating and prototyping of the bikes. To do a VPP HP design ... more »

Well, not quite, Neko is one guy who is designing and building his own race bikes, Intense is a company who has built their reputation on being progressive and ahead of the game, but what they are doing with this bike and over the last couple years doesn't ... more »

What's to say that a new HP bike will be specifically any better at winning races for the Intense team than a non-HP bike? Didn't Neko just decide to ride his non-HP bike for the WC this year rather? Also Bruni and Minaar and a host of other racers seem ... more »

Judging from the second pic, there is clearly an idler wheel, so High Pivot, and pivots by the dropouts, not sure whether they will be on the chainstay or seatstay though? So no more VPP… If that’s a rocker link then I think we can expect something looking ... more »

When I used to work in the industry 10+ years ago, I remember the margins on the more expensive bikes were significantly better, not sure if that is still the case? Maybe that is the plan, keep the bikes high end and $$$ and make bigger margins off fewer ... more »

Or perhaps create hype and demand with the current design and then make a cheaper more mass production version, same geometry and design but non 3D printed and keep the current version as the top of the line bells and whistles model

On a side note: Morewood bikes is basically Pyga now. Designed and owned by Patrick Morewood. Pyga Mountain Bikes

I think the the abp pivot is actually owned by Dave Weagle as well if I remember correctly? Both Devinci and Orbea have licensed it and use it on their bikes.

I can't speak for the M29 itself, but Jack Moir said that he had good success on the M29 proto frame, but when Gwin joined the team and some of the sponsors changed, ie. tires and suspension etc. he said he didn't get along with some of the different ... more »

Don’t know how recent those photos are, but I remember Neko saying in a pod cast that towards the end at IFR, they got a whole bunch of other bikes from other companies to ride and assess strengths and weaknesses so they could give feedback to the engineers ... more »

If a dyno in a hub could work surely something similar could be built into a gearbox transmission, like a pinion or something? Makes it more contained and more central for distribution to other parts of the bike via wires Another interesting concept ... more »

Yeah if I understand, you should be able to use that adapter with any DM stem? Not sure what benefit that might give unless you are changing forks every other weekend but I guess someone might find it useful

It's possible that the effects he is feeling are due to braking/dragging brakes, which does inherently affect the suspension on a single pivot design more than most others. Maybe a floating brake mount is what is actually needed?

I wonder if we will see a new Slash with the high pivot from the DH bike eventually?

For self shuttling your DH bike to the top of the hill and in case you wanna use a dual crown for enduro. Both outlying cases but just curious...

It would already fit the rear shock, I wonder if the fork mount would work on a Boxxer?

The buttercup is likely a response to the EXT and DVO small coil springs that improve initial sensitivity. I do agree with you though that in both cases, small coil or buttercup, it will have to be targeted at a specific rider weight zone that will not ... more »

I get your concern regarding racing this stuff, but live valve has already bean raced in XCO on the pivot bikes and this AXS stuff has been raced in EWS… if you’re at the sharp end this could make the 0.2sec difference between 1st and 2nd (like Bruni ... more »
