I agree with you, I was just trying to crack wise. It looks like there is so much wrong here from rider safety to handing out $20 fines for everything under the sun.

According to Wentz' estimation, J Dylan Dean is close to 10' 6" tall.

A few years ago (mid-30s) I completely tore my AC joint. I saw a doctor who suggested a non-surgical approach first. I was all for it. If surgery ended up being needed it could be done just as easily then or later. This was late in the season, so the ... more »

Specialized Status 1 is $2500.The Specialized Enduro Comp might be more what you're looking for, but it's $3,500. Maybe a Giant Reign 2, $2,400. If you're looking to pedal more than DH/FR I'd look at something like the Reign.

I swapped my 50mm stem for the straitline 28mm. After one day at a bike park, I'd say that was what I needed.

Sun RIngle MTX39s are pretty indestructible. Probably a bit heavy for what you're doing, but you'll have a hard time hurting them. For DJ I've been using Azonic Outlaws for quite a while and they're solid.

I have a 2011. I'll definitely try the shorter stem before anything else. Most small frames don't fit me, but I've sat on a few mediums that seem shorter than mine (Canfield Jedi, Pivot Phoenix, Giant Glory). I didn't measure them, just going by feel. ... more »

New thread Demo 8 Sizing 9/3/2012 4:27 PM

I'm 5'9" and wondering if a small Demo 8 will fit me better than a medium. The medium seems long compared to other medium DH bikes. I currently have a medium w/50mm long stem and I'm thinking about getting a Straitline Ultra 28mm stem to shorten up the ... more »

Never mind. I found out what powder coating will do the the lowers. Looks like automotive paint is the best option.

I think this is ironic and funny. I doubt Speed Energy will be successful even if "S" didn't copyright the logo. Specialized can show they've had their "S" logo for many years before Speed Energy even existed. I'm no lawyer, but I don't see this case ... more »

I have a bike I'm prepping to sell, and the fork is in great shape (except for the rattle can paint job). The fork was white, is now powder blue, or was until I began stripping the paint. Has anyone powder coated fork lowers before? I will remove the ... more »
