Added a new video McTrail Rider Channel Takeover | Sendero Seeker Abides 12/26/2018 2:55 AM

We headed up to Abantos for today's ride. It's famous for it's vertical climbs and you guessed it, it's rocky descents. But today's video is completely taken from Andrew's point of view. It's his account of the day. If you want to see my account of the Abantos ride, head over to McTrail Rider's channel to check it out.

Added a new video Chasing McTrail Rider through the Spanish Gnar | Warm up day! 12/22/2018 3:40 AM

I'd invited McTrail Rider to Madrid as soon as I heard he was hitting Spain whilst on his European trail tour. The problem was, he was arriving on a Bank Holiday weekend which meant the Sierra was going to be packed with Madrileños!!! So what did we do? We headed to San Martín de Valdeiglesias. A small castle town that's tucked away from the crowds, with a stunning backdrop overlooking the reservoir...and packed with some pretty fun trails. This was just the warm up for things to come!

Added a new video Madrid.......MTB Paradise? 12/22/2018 3:38 AM

This is the first video of my trip to Madrid to ride with Nathan from Sendero Seeker. I arrived, knowing very little of the area and was genuinely surprised to find that not only was there some elevation to be had, but also some seriously good trails too.

Added a new video Winter MTB is coming to Madrid...will it last? 12/13/2018 10:06 AM

The snow had come again and this time I wasn't going to miss it. Jorge suggested a route I'd never done before...and it was perfect for the ebike... Or so he said. This was more an adventure than a trail, but I love these rides where you just get out and explore.

Added a new video Riding Soap Rock in Wine Country 12/6/2018 9:33 AM

This was the final morning of the La Rioja trip. The rain came down and the rock turned to soap. It was a 'delicate' few descents, a little tense and not as fast as I would have liked, but you have to make it down in one piece. With only two descents before lunch and making our way home, we had to make it count. This was a great end to three days of unique riding.

Added a new video La Rioja: Day 1 | Mountain Biking in Spanish Wine Country 11/30/2018 3:57 AM

A weekend of Shuttle rides was long overdue. While this was officially the second day of our trip (the first being in Spanish Utah), this was Day 1 in La Rioja, wine country. But don't let that fool you. We experienced some fantastically chunky, loose and fast descents, courtesy of the boys at TrackMTB.

Added a new video Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to Spanish Utah. 11/23/2018 6:00 AM

I was not expecting this. Not at all! The 32 km route in Spanish Utah, otherwise known as Calatayud, blew away all of my expectations. With it's unrelenting pace, technical (enough) climbs and descents it was the absolute 'complete package'. In fact this goes down as one of my most fun rides, ever!

Added a new video The toughest climb in Ainsa | Enduro in Zona Zero, Spain 11/5/2018 11:11 AM

"Out of all the climbs in Ainsa, this was the one I DIDN'T want to do", grunted Jorge as we reached the top of the Pumariello climb in Zona Zero... And with kind of good reason. It's nasty, real nasty. But the rewards were too good to be missed. With a short day ahead of riding, we had to pack in all we could. Route 01 in Ainsa, otherwise known as 'ZZ-001 Pumariello y As Cambras' is short, punchy and has a hell of a descent or two. And of course we couldn't leave Ainsa, without throwing in a few Margas, which are a geographical feature that is unique to the area...and so much fun!

Added a new video I was lucky to get away with this! 11/5/2018 11:09 AM

Every now and again you have one of those rides where it all comes together. The flow is high, you're feeling good and there's a good group of riders with you...but all of a sudden something dawns on you as you're bombing down the mountain; YOU HAVE NO BACK BRAKE. This week I had my scariest high-speed near miss. Except, there wasn't just one. There was a bunch. The moral of the story? Always check your bike kids before hitting the trails!

Added a new video New Bike Day: Radon Swoop 170 8.0 Unboxed 11/5/2018 11:04 AM

Yep, it's new bike day and today I unbox my new Radon Swoop 170 8.0. It's a super-Enduro beast (I hope) that actually won Enduro Bike Of The Year in 2017 at BikeRadar. I can't wait to get it out and start putting it through it's paces. Stay tuned for a 'hands-on' review in a while.

Added a new video Flow with the XC Belgians | Mountain Biking Spain 11/5/2018 11:01 AM

This week I headed out to Valsain, near Segovia (central Spain). It's the closest thing we have to flow trails. While a mellow ride, verging on cross-country, it has plenty of really fun descents. It's a ride that anyone can take on and have a good time! Oh, and it's stunning!

Added a new video Into the Wilderness | Mountain Biking Spain 11/5/2018 10:55 AM

This is one of the most beautiful, savage rides around. With everything from high alpine plains, near trials-esque trails and fast forest flow, everything was set for an awesome day... Until. Cue dramatic music!

Added a new video Lost trails, tired legs and lots of stoke! | Mountain biking in Spain 10/12/2018 2:32 AM

Joining the dots on forgotten trails and getting stoked on undiscovered descents was the order of the day. As we headed towards the mountain range that separates Madrid and Segovia, it became clear that today's ride of discovery was gonna be tough...and awesome!

Added a new video Making new buddies on the trail 10/12/2018 2:31 AM

This week marks a return to Abantos and a return to regular uploads. I planned on doing a couple of new trails this week, along with one I’d hadn’t ridden for a few of years. It mostly worked out, except for a few minor adjustments. Oh, and I made a new buddy whilst waiting to drop in at the top of Abantos.

Added a new video The Return to Ainsa and the return of the EWS 10/12/2018 2:30 AM

Ainsa is always awesome and what better time to head that way than on the weekend of the Enduro World Series 2018! While the pros were busy track walking and trying to remember their lines, Jorge and I were out sampling some of the best trails that Spain has to offer. This is part 1 of the Ainsa 2018 Series. Route: ZZ-006 Trilogía de San Vicente.

Added a new video To Infinity and Beyond the Flow 10/12/2018 2:28 AM

Day two of the Ainsa, Enduro World Series trip was a big day! After kicking off with Route 34, otherwise know as the 'Burgasé Infinito' we went full tilt and ended running on fumes very quickly. This was quickly followed by lunch and a quick doze, keen to squeeze as much riding into the trip as possible we headed up to ride the classic 'Coasta Doble', half of which was featured in this year's EWS. 7 kilometres of pure flow! A true classic! Routes: ZZ-034 Burgasé Infinito and ZZ-010 La Coasta doble.

Added a new video The Best Enduro MTB trail in Spain? 10/12/2018 2:24 AM

The best mountain bike trail in Spain? It’s a hefty claim to make, and 'the best' is always debatable…However, it’s made my top five enduro descents of all time! El Cebollar is otherwise known as ‘Route 29’ and is maintained by Zona Zero. This is the same organisation that runs and maintains the trails that the EWS just enjoyed in northern Spain. It’s a pretty long climb, but the stunning natural beauty of the place is overwhelming. The descent throws absolutely everything it has at you. It’s scary steep, loose, dry, has all kinds of terrain from narrow-ledge (half) single track that is desperate to throw you off… to dark woods where you can hardly see a damn thing. In short, it’s one of the most complete and dare I say it 'best' mtb trails in Spain. Put it on your list! Routes: ZZ-029 La Ruta del Cebollar and ZZ-006 Trilogía de San Vicente.

One snapped tubeless valve, one puncture, a short hike-a-bike and many a wrong turn later we finished the ride pumped and very hot. The Spanish summer has arrived and so have the adventures...
