Added a new video Flow on an ebike? You betcha! 3/21/2019 12:57 AM

Today I headed over to the province of Avila with the boys from Track MTB. They were scouting some new trails to run their upcoming MTB skills course. What better way to scout trails than by ebike. We blasted through trail after flow trail and to my surprise I found that ebikes are perfectly capable of flow...just make sure the motor doesn't cut out!

Added a new video First Enduro Race On The Swoop 170 | Endurama Ponferrada 3/14/2019 9:19 AM

The 2019 Endurama enduro series kicks off with today's race in Ponferrada, Leon. After riding the race circuit the day before, it was time to don the goggles and wait for the beeps. This was my first race with the Radon Swoop 170, so I was keen to see how the bike handled the varying terrain. Nerves, big (for me) doubles and the desire to do well made for a tense morning. But the stages were awesome fun, well designed and exciting to race! Enjoy the video...

Added a new video Second Enduro Race of 2019 | Training Day 3/11/2019 1:50 AM

It was time for the second race of the season for me, but the first in the Endurama Enduro Series 2019. This is a very well known race series on the Spanish circuit. Each leg is celebrated in different areas of Spain over the course of the season. I'd never been to Ponferrada before, home to this edition and the terrain was quite new to me. It was time to get out on the circuit and take a look at what I would be racing in less than 24 hours.

Added a new video Why I Use A Gravel Bike To (hopefully) Get Better Enduro Results 3/7/2019 12:11 AM

As part of my ongoing training for racing enduro this year, I thought you might like to see what a typical gravel ride is like. While gravel might not be everyone's idea of a good time, the training benefits can't be denied (I don't think). And there's always coffee and cake afterwards!

Finding and riding an awesome new trail for the first time can't be beat, especially when you're not expecting it. Today we found a new mini downhill trail and while it's known to many of the locals, it's one we'd never hit. And boy was it a good 'un!

Added a new video Learning To Jump In My 40's - It Begins Today! 2/26/2019 1:14 AM

They say you're never too old to learn something new... And today marks the beginning of my challenge for 2019; Learning to Jump. While most of my riding is done on natural trails and the jumps I find on my way aren't a problem, I'd definitely like to be more comfortable in the air. Today is the first step towards learning a new skill!

Added a new video First Enduro Race of 2019 And An Unexpected Surprise! 2/21/2019 1:17 AM

After checking out the circuit the day before, I felt a little more confident about my chances of making it to the finish line in one piece. Race day was upon me and it was my first enduro race of 2019, and an urban one at that! I bet you'll never guessed what happened at the end!

Added a new video The Future Of British Mountain Biking Is In The Forest Of Dean. 2/14/2019 12:32 AM

During a brief trip back home to Wales I had the chance get out on a ride with an old school friend, James and his family. Both kids, Bella (8) and Ioan (10) race regularly at the Forest of Dean trail center, even Mum Nanette races! The kids were little rippers and afraid of nothing. Ioan especially enjoyed giving me tips on my appalling jumping technique. I had such an awesome time, I really did. I didn't want it to end. I need to get back to the UK this year to get some serious riding in. Any suggestions where?

Added a new video Sessioning MTB Trails To Ride Faster! 2/6/2019 11:34 PM

San Martin was to be the destination for my last ride with McTrail Rider. I wanted to take the opportunity to session one of the trails we had ridden and see how I could improve my line choice, confidence and overall speed. We all know that practice makes perfect and in mountain biking this comes in the form of sessioning. Sessioning your local trails can help you to become a better and faster rider!

Added a new video Where I Lost My Mountain Bike Virginity 2/5/2019 12:29 AM

Hoyo de Manzanares is where I lost my mountain bike virginity back in 2015. It was something new and something completely different to me at the time. Coming from a few months of lycra and fireroads it was my first time on a full suspension bike and where I tried this thing they call enduro... With huge granite rock slabs and fast flowy trails, it's now my go-to spot when the Sierra is being pounded by bad weather.

Added a new video Riding The Most Technical MTB Trail in Central Spain 1/31/2019 12:00 AM

Patones, Madrid is known for its technical descents, brutal climbs and sharp slate rock ready to slice you up into strips of ham. So why would you want to go??? Because it's freakin' awesome. It's challenging, a little scary and fast when it needs to be. All the right ingredients for a fantastic morning's riding.

Added a new video Broken Bikes and Broken Bones | One of those Rides 1/23/2019 11:17 PM

You've heard the expression, 'Sometimes you're the hammer and sometimes you're the nail'. It pays to be the hammer, but unfortunately it doesn't always work out that way. Today's ride started out tough, and things starting going wrong way too early. It was gonna be one of those rides...

Added a new video Riding a 2000 Year Old Trail and Catching the Train Home Again 1/17/2019 12:44 AM

Mountain biking is an adrenaline rush, at least it is for me. It's also a way to clear my head and focus on what's right in front of me for a while. But sometimes a scenic ride, a bit of culture and getting the train home is a welcome change of pace... before getting back to the Gnar

Added a new video The Radon Swoop 170 is Back, But for How Long??? 1/14/2019 11:45 PM

I've had quite a few comments asking about the Radon Swoop and it's whereabouts. Don't worry, I still have it but there were some initial problems with the suspension. It's all fixed now and ready to get back out on the trails. Here's my first "real" ride and my thoughts on the bike so far... Expect to see more of it in the future!

Added a new video Getting Dropped by McTrail Rider On My Local Trails! | Spain MTB 1/10/2019 2:37 AM

It was another bank holiday in Spain so McTrail Rider and I headed to San Rafael, near Segovia to get away from the crowds. The trails were in prime condition, in fact maybe a little too prime as McTrail Rider proceeded to drop me on a trail he'd never riden before. Getting dropped is awesome!

Added a new video This is ABSOLUTELY why we do it, this is why we ride. 1/3/2019 1:02 AM

Riding mountain bikes is always fun, but if the stars align and the stoke is high you can find yourself having the ride of your life. Today was one of those days. With the longest run of the day ahead of us we were guaranteed a bit of everything. From technical sections to fast flow, steep chutes and very rocky, rock gardens. It had the makings of a classic Enduro descent. This is absolutely why we ride Enduro and I think our giddiness more than comes across in the video :)

Added a new video Could this be Spain's longest Rock Garden? 12/31/2018 2:13 AM

Today was one of those very special days when everyone was on point. The trails were gnarly, loose and fast and as luck would have it, so were we. We all came away completely giddy as the adrenaline flowed and that special 'descent bond' grew :)
