No need for DH bike anywhere within a ~10 hour drive of Madison. A 140mm bike would be long travel in the Midwest. Perfect Madison bike would be something like a Ripley or Following. Capable 120mm 29er. Can still shred hard if you travel to Copper Harbor, ... more »

Sounds like embargo comes off the new Shorty end of this month or early October. Hope it's sooner than later. Loris ran them front and rear. Interesting Greg had an Assegai on during practice then went to the new shorty for race run. Lots of people running ... more »

Fluid clutch can't handle the amount movement on a MTB. Designed for road. That's why it's only on the Road AXS groupos and not MTB.

Forgive me for not wanting to google this idea but just to throw it out there..

I would never say I'm going "enduro riding", even though I'm on a Norco Sight with 8" rotors, DH/DD casing tires, pointing downhill and wearing a full face helmet. I'd say I'm going trail riding....more

RE New Stumpjumper: I forgot to save the image myself before it was taken down. Definitely no traditional horst-link. Looks almost like an Epic EVO rear end mated to current Stumpy front triangle (albeit longer/slacker). And the specs listed a 45mm(?!) ... more »

Looks like a short spike mud tire. VERY similar to a Specialized Hillbilly with some modifications. I think the concept is really good. A mud tire without huge long spikes that make them un-rideable on roots/rocks.

Good call on that Michelin DH Mud. That's what it seems to be!

Could be the crush washer. But also can be that when you squirted the 10CC of oil through the bottom hole of the lower that some of the oil went into the the actual damping rod hole. So when you put it back together, the stuff that got into where the ... more »

Word on the street is that it's 6.1lbs with shock. Not heavy by any means but definitely not 'xc light'. Definitely great weight for a modern trail bike. And it's over a pound lighter than the Rascal.

Give the other Revel models. Likely not very light. Which is likely why it wasn't included.

$65 with no middle man strikes me as kinda expensive. MAP (minimum advertised price) for most Maxxis models is less than $70. A direct to consumer cost of $45-$50 would put them on par with the wholesale pricing of the the most expensive mtb tires available.

Not very earth-shattering at $65 dollars. If they were $40-50 that would be more newsworthy. When you have a boutique carbon FS bike, top of the line suspension and carbon hoops you usually don't lose any sleep if you spend 10-15 dollars more per tire. Not diminishing the performance of the...more
