They won't give air from a compressor or let you use a pump? Time to get a new shop...

Awesome idea, but $150 for a cardboard box? sheesh that's going to be a tough sell

WeAreOne are fantastic! On my second set, went from the Agent to the Union... because I'm now a carbon rim convert. They have good vertical compliance and are plenty stiff laterally. Many choices of hubs. Great price and warranty! Plus North American made.

Having super easily adjustable knobs are not a selling point for me. I would prefer a 4 or 5mm allen, just make them all the same size... However, kids and a-hole friends are likely rejoicing.

I loved my CCDBA on my Transition Covert back in the day... can't wait to hear how these perform.

I've been waiting to see this for a while and it definitely doesn't disappoint. Hope they'll have a demo at some point at my LBS.

It would be nice to see a Deore and XT level bike for the budget option and Shimano fans out there.

Is there a new Ripcord in the works? It's the oldest bike in the line now and my daughter is about to get into 24" wheels... It would be nice to see an SBG version, or least a better/more appropriate suspension like a 145mm Manitou J-Unit that wouldn't ... more »

As per the local rep and their gravity tune philosophy; Norco generally attenpts to make their differing sized, and wheel-sized, bikes of the same model try to "feel" the same in their handling characteristics; their are slight differences in geo, ie HA, stack, STA, RC, WB, etc. , that try to make this happen.

The FloatX2 has an extremely firm bottom out bumper, which (from what I've heard) is nearly impossible to compress the final 2-3mm of stroke; my understanding is that Norco speced the 55mm stroke due to this reason.

That's also why you see the Rockshox suspension with 52.5mm stroke... as it will use full travel freely.

It may be clever but I personally think it's awful looking... it really ruins all the clean lines of the design

Although it's the same Shimano build kit, but there are 3 fork/shock and 6 colours (3 carbon and 2 alu plus the C2 yellow)... so technically 10 carbon and 6 aluminum options and but all are the same Shimano XT/SLX kit; which there's absolutely nothing wrong with but it would have been nice to see an XTR build similar to the Optic C1 available.

I believe it's just the seat... maybe grips have a smaller diameter on some models, but not the C3.

Not sure what me being canadian has to do with anything... just you saying that makes you sound like a total assclown.

All your logic is flawed; kid's and adult's cannot be comapred at the same ratios physiologically... relatively, their torsos are longer, have larger heads, and legs/arms are shorter... they're not proportionate to adults. And, this is especially significant for younger riders.

Weight; these bikes are not XC bikes, they're intended to ride the hardest trails out there and Park riding day in and out. You have no clue the abuse the abuse levels many of this lightweight riders will put their equipment through. You're opinions have no validity as soon as you think a 10kg bike will last in these environments. To get to that weight, which I would never trust as a parent (plus I live and ride in the intended environments), you're looking at a whole lot more money... ready for $7000+ kid's S-Works bikes?

As far as CS talk, geo, etc. There's an interesting interview with Greg Minaar on nsmb.com everyone should check out.

Check out the specs on a similarly intended bike like the Commencal Clash 20... same reach, 345mm CS (longer = more stable) and also have 140mm cranksets. And they weight 30-31lbs, which is probably similar to these. They aren't XC bikes, they're made for years of abuse.

I'm pretty sure they went with boost hubs because almost all their bikes have boost rears, making it more cost effective to order parts/axles/dropouts from suppliers. The boost spacing should also make a stronger wheel... great for kids.

Kotori 20" $1300 CAD, 24" $1395 CAD as per their website. I'd take the Rampage 1 over the Kotori as my local Norco dealer is a 5 minute drive with free tune ups for the life of the bike... saves me $50-75 each time, so it will pay off the price difference. Yes, I could easily do the tune ups, wheel trues, but it takes my time away from family time.

Regardless of your preference for brands, these bikes are awesome!

Except for the Fluid 1s, the prices are about the same but in CAD... Fluid 2s +$100, Rampage 1s are the same and the Rampage 2s are -$100 at $899!

And everyone needs to stop with "Kid's bikes are expensive"... go look at the cost of any Rep level sport, tournament travel/food/lodging alone will be 2-3 times the cost of the Fluid 1s.

These bikes are for the kids that SHRED... you can go buy the Storm or Charger (got my daughter one and it's awesome) for a lot less. The value is in riding with your child and if you have multiple kids, handing bikes down to the next child cuts the cost, and you can still sell it for 60-80% of what you bought it for... I'll definitely be looking at a Fluid 24!

According to Norco's site it's $899 CAD... I'd say that's pretty damn good value. This is kid's DJ bike, so you would have to compare the Rampage to the Kotori, which is $1300... $400 less, seems like a decent value to me. The 2.1 is $1499 CAD and has a fork with real adjustments... and, knowing Manitou, will last.
