Is Fox Keeping DOSS in the line-up? I assumed this would take its place?

I know I'm the minority, but I was a huge fan of the 3 positions from the original D.O.S.S.
At first I assumed this was a lame feature after coming off an original Crank Bro's post back in the day that had infinite adjustability. However after some time on the D.O.S.S. I was a huge fan of the fixed positions. There is something to be said about having a predictable and consistent middle setting. No thinking about finding the right spot, its always in the same place, and adds a constant that you don't get with infinite adjust. Really it is just one less thing to think about, which for me goes a long way. I am now back on a Reverb after 3 years on D.O.S.S. posts, and can say that for me, infinite adjustability is a downgrade compared to a fixed middle position... Glad to see Fox back in this game though!

I think good shops, with great service, and community involvement will do just fine. This is not much different then the threat of bike companies selling customer direct. If the shop offers a convenience and service you can't get online, they will still ... more »

There you go again Vital, testing a bike us "non dentist" types might also be able to afford... Love VitalMtb testing/reviews. Just seem "real". Like your not swayed by who's patent is on the linkage, which brand is on the downtube or what bike company happens to be trendy at the...more

I've always been a believer and preacher of setting up the levers so your wrists are as lined up as possible with the rest of your arm when you are in your attack position. Really for all the same reasons they describe flat is better, mainly that this ... more »

Agreed, proprietary parts usually just cause issues for the owner in the long run, not to mention limits options... Limiting options is exactly what Specialized wants though, as it gives them greater control over how their bikes are set up so no one does anything ridiculous. That is the only benefit i can see. I prefer bikes that work with the "standards" although we have a billion standards in this industry. Being able find a replacement for a blown shock on a once in a lifetime road trip, in a timely fashion anywhere, is a lot easier if it's not proprietary!

I don't always comment on Vital MTB, but when I do, I prefer to be the 1st!
Just wanted to say thanks for these reviews, I look forward to them each year. Keep up the good work!

I would absolutely love not buying a USAC license this year... As of now with the Enduro Schedule being non-sanctioned the only sanctioned race on my radar is Angel Fire National Champs... I'm assuming the Winter Park and other local Colorado DH races will be non-sanctioned. If nothing else gets added, it might be an easy decision to make. Would be fun to write USAC an email explaining why I'm not buying a license for the first time in 10 years! Been wanting to do that for a while now!
