Weren't they on Kenda for a brief time in the early days of the Syndicate, before Greg came?

@RiderMikeCheck1 @jamesdunford Thanks, what you say makes a lot of sense. I add one thing here: even though they are ran through Pure Agency, they are the de facto Specialized Downhill FACTORY Team. There is a tight connection there and development runs

Erm, Specialized IS a tire producer, so they kind of are the tire provider for this team. I'm wondering how all of this sits with them, given the fact that they make pretty decent tires. But it also speaks volumes about Loic's leverage over there. Don't

Added a comment about product review Made in Canada, Ready for the Trail - Devinci's $1,699 Kobain Hardtail 1/21/2021 1:51 AM

At this price, with a Canadian-made frame, the package is incredible value. Upgrading to better brakes is easy and you can choose what you like. I ride a Nukeproof Scout 290 (which btw is incredibly fun and was my go-to bike in the winter months, rarely missing my Foxy) and the excellent and pretty old Deore XT M785 brakes proved to be enough on most occasions. Otherwise, how many people do you think feel the need for the XT shifter's capabilities? And what the last time you really felt the difference between a dual compound tire and a fancy foldable 3C? People run them at the wrong pressures most times anyway, so I don't think it's something to cry about. As for the color, it's a matter of taste. We get enough boring color schemes in the industry, it's good that every now and then a company does different things.

Cheers!

Is it just me, or were a lot of shots being fired in the ”Danny joins Cube” press release? I mean, I dig the concept of teams being families, but I guess that very word was mentioned once too many times and hints directly at how Danny was treated by ... more »

@Primoz I am following Team Rumours threads since the beginning and I can't recall the detailed story about Gwin's departure being told here, but I could be wrong, of course. Basically, what you are saying is that if YT stayed in the game, the shuffle ... more »

THANK YOU, @Primoz! . . . Regarding Intense, Gwin owns the team, not the company. It was well documented at that point that he wanted off the Mob, because he wanted to do the things his way. This also coincided with a moment when Intense brought in a ... more »

I think it's a bit deeper than that. Don't forget Loic had an internship with 100% a few years back and their connection is long running. Probably Specialized and Fox are cool enough and don't mind this, or he has enough leverage to keep this connection. ... more »

Maybe they're just buying Transition frames, like their Montgenevre DH team used to back in the day when Sam Dale was racing for them! :D

Well, now seeing Loris in that 100% kit, which seems to be a given for the Trek Factory Team, it seems very less likely for him to be joined by Vali, who has confirmed Oakley and Troy Lee Designs as her sponsors for the future too. Will she go to Specialized? ... more »

”Unceremoniously dropping Gwin”??? As far as I can remember, dude went his own way, to form a team like he desired. It's not like when the Celtics sent Isaiah Thomas to the Cavs, after he worked his b̶u̶t̶t̶ hip off and sacrificed everythng for his team... ... more »

Why not? You want to push both to sell and supporting teams is natural marketing. But I guess Fox knows better. I only said what I'd LIKE to see, not what the future holds, as I am no clairvoyant. :D
