he went within 0.1s of vergiers time on a much more beaten up track, i think it fair to say that the last 10-15 would not have crushed him. Maybe a couple of them at best. The only downside form my point of view is it made the last guys boring to watch, when if it was all dry it would have been...more

@Tehllama I feel you, but the time distance between the launch of said Michelins and the copycat versions is very short. They were available at the same time on the market, but Michelins were more expensive, because they were made in Europe, as they had no Asian factory back then. I love Maxxis and the fact that they made quality rubber more affordable, but let's not overestimate certain people's ”creative” input. Both Minions and the High Roller are Michelin rip-offs and the Transalp was an awesome tire as early as in 1994. The only innovation/refinement here is marketing and hitting certain price points. A smart feat, but not much actual tread design in there. smile

I salute you, buddy!

You mean those tires that were, uhm, ”inspired” by the Michelin C16, C24, C32 and, ultimately, the Transalp from the early 90's? Or what are those ”contributions”, actually? smile

It's always useful to have brake adapters from one of your competing brands, especially if you are an up and comer and also if there are blank ones available and sharpies around!

Steve Peat homage slideshow on Vital; a video on Dirt... This better not be some kind of pre-retirement buttering up of the public, cuz I'm not havin' it! Don't leave us Peaty, we need you!
