If you look at their whole line and how they touch geometry over the time, it's a painfully slow process. Canyon was never a progressive company when it comes to geometry and I think one reason is who was buying their bikes in the past.

The stumpy evo has a short insertion depth, which negates the benefit of their short seat tubes.

that's a good question. while shorter than before, the stumpy evo has a 425mm length on their S4 size compared to the 460mm on our large spectral 29.

I wonder why it is that the major direct-to-consumer companies are struggling to sufficiently shorten their seat tubes. I know their suspension layouts involve kinks/linkage relatively high on the seat tube, but other companies have worked around that constraint.

Are you saying then that the warranty issue that has been discussed in the forums and comment section as a "non issue' for this bike? Since this review/preview is for potential buyers, i just think it would be helpful for us to know the whole deal.

It's almost funny how vital used so may words mention the warranty issue and yet still not hit the line, almost like going around in the chicken line. This is not PB, i was hoping the vital would be a lot more straightforward with it, as it has been the biggest issue with Canyon.

Can’t speak for the newer trail bikes from Canyon, but my aluminum 19 Sender is the most fun DH bike I’ve had in many years. And I’ve had zero issues with it. *knocks on wood.

Edit: this is a 2018 bike: small water bottle, room for a <175mm dropper, and 6" of seat tube above the top tube. It's amazing that a company that can design a road bike that is arguably the best performance-per-dollar machine on the planet has failed on their *entire* mountain...more
