They’ve really made a mess of their tire selection the last couple years. Are they updating the Slaughter? A 29x2.4 grid trail t7 or grid gravity t7/t9 would be nice.

Cool video, but can we please stop with the high/wide corner entry lines. Unless it is a race course stick to the defined trail otherwise it just widens the trail and dumbs it down. No different than sanitization of other features IMO.

Thanks Charlie and Spomer for making this happen and for the insights and personal touch! I knocked this out a week ago on solo snowy ride.

One thing I'll throw out there re: depression and tackling it is to understand that some people struggle to get off the couch and get all the other helpful pieces of the puzzle in order (eating and sleeping well, exercise, social interactions, etc) without pharmaceutical help and that absolutely needs to be considered when they consult a professional and shouldn't be frowned upon. Use all the tools that are available to help you take control of your life and tweak the formula as necessary.

Also, get off the fkn smart phone!

This took me a few days to listen to but I loved it. Nice work Vital!

I was fortunate to ride with Charlie and his see his van when he rolled through my neighborhood after I chewed out one of his sponsors for him making a comment I was unhappy about!!

Lucky for me my bike has 425 chainstays and a 425 reach. Maybe I’m the lucky one at 5’3”?

Love you, man! Had such a great time riding with you in Draper, and the private screening of Double Down was amazing. Glad you enjoyed the podcast!

Funny how the increasing weight of bikes recently is making this look more and more appropriate.

Thanks Matt, yeah, you're probably right at this level they're all pretty good.
To give you some prospective in Australia.
Al the bikes you mention with that level of componentry $10,000 to $12,000 here.
That Canyon is $6,200.
So if it can truly compete closely with the others...more

Super slick! But not using the seat tube mast as a stripper pole just seems like a real lost opportunity artistically speaking.

I'd give the nod to the Stevo (friend has one), Ripmo (i have one), and Switchblade in terms of frame quality over the Canyon. Value is defined by the customer so only you can decide if the "1/3 more" you mention below is worth it. Support a local shop (potentially) as well as better (potentially) customer service IF you happen to have a warranty issue. Not to mention higher resale value if that's important to you and the Weagly link on the SB/Ripmo.

There are lots of Ripmos, Stevos, and Switchblades on my local trails and it would take a fine tooth comb and a bit of riding on each to really suss out the differences and even then it'll come down to rider preference. I say if you're after value and don't mind any real or imagined risk with dealing with a d2c brand then the Canyon's going to be a very comparable bike to all of the others you listed.

I just built up one of these in polished aluminum and if you think I'm just going to rush out and buy this color frame the minute it comes out you are absolute right!

The bike would look sick if you just changed crank decals and swap gold chain for oil slick then your good to go. But definitely take care of that ;-)
