Always cracks me up that the east coast normally has more organized series, especially in gravity, than the west.

...to purchase every part to build a complete bike is also hard to come by right now.

Love the idea and video, but PLEASE wear eye protection when cutting metal! I work with eyes and the amount of young guys who end up blind or partially sighted because they didn't wear eye protection when cutting or hammering metal is higher than you'd think.

Looking forward to the next installment!

I've been eagerly awaiting reviews of Cascade links. Sadly, this review brings back memories of Iceman's less than scientific brake test a few years ago ( https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/Vital-MTB-Face-Off-The-Best-DH-Brakes,2152 ). Don't get me wrong - I appreciate the effort and that access to it is free, but did you guys ever consider using for instance telemetry to quantify your findings and do case by case analysis across multiple scenarios? Aka geek it out, since suspension fine tuning is very much a geeky activeity wink Doing a qualitative review of something as technical as suspension just seems like an odd approach, especially as telemetry equipment is fairly cheap nowadays. Sorry if this comes across as harsh, it is meant to be constructive feedback not a putdown - so again, thanks for the effort.

We think alike, Eddie! The ESC dumped UCI and USAC and banned tearoffs long ago.
Then attendance exploded.

"We aren’t taking salaries or any wages to do this. Currently, everyone working at Grow Cycling Foundation is a volunteer. Aside from platform hosting fees and administrative costs, 100% of your donations go directly to Grow Cycling initiatives and are tax-deductible."

I just want to put this here because its important. Too many non profits (cough protect our winters cough) turn into a self serving non profit that aim to support the people that run them as much as (more than) the cause they aim to have an effect on.

Beyond this, what I think is rad about Eliot's non-profit is its specific aim. I hope he keeps this aim laser sharp while continually acknowledging one of the primary drivers to the outdoor sporting world's "exclusionary" issue has more to do with wealth inequality than anything else.

Oh, and I feel I speak for everyone when I say "more videos with Elliot doing whips".

VersusTires

$65-ish is the base price for a single tire.
Buy mutliples (2/4/6) for discount.
Buy at events for discount.
Frequent buyer/referral program
Plus more stuff/perks to be announced when we actually launch in a couple weeks.

YT sells for 35% discount over other brands by shaving margin from every part on the bike, we only make tires.

We chose not to cut every corner & make the least expensive tire possible. Instead, we chose to make a high-quality tire that we sell at a really good price, if they're not for you, no big deal, we just want people to have fun riding bikes.

Wow, I really just had to stop listening. I’ve never heard so much raw opinion, covered up with “just my personal opinion here”! Seriously, does nobody get that the “sport” of mountain biking is also just something people do for fun? It’s not dumbing things down, it’s building people up, letting people grow into the potential sport side of it.
I’ve run a bike park in Germany for five years now, and I’ve watched kids grow from only riding our easy flow trail, to the bigger green trail, to our enduro trail, to racing iXS Cups and doing pretty well.
And if it’s not about making money(to the last dude) then it will not be sustainable. If someone isn’t making money, they won’t invest time in it. They can’t, we all have to eat dude.
Build flow trail! Just for goodness sake, don’t only build flow trails. I’ve built four new trails in this park in five years. 2 machine built flowy ones and 2 hand build, natural trails. We went from 1800 visitors a year to 15000 a year in a tiny bike park, on a tiny hill, and most of them are achieving the most important goal of mountain biking: having fun.
Peace people, and please keep up the great work.

OneUp

To clear this up a bit, we sent both Fox and Rockshox EDC Taps and Top caps for third party testing back in 2017. To our knowledge, neither were unable to cause a failure during their respective lab testing. RockShox makes no official statement that we are aware of but Fox's official line is below:

“If a CSU is received and verified to have upper tube creaking and has a thread cut in its steerer to work with OneUp’s tool FOX will warranty that CSU. If a CSU is received for a steerer issue of any kind and has a thread cut in its steerer FOX will NOT warranty that CSU."

To summarize, Fox will warranty any failure other than one that is a direct result of EDC threads.

We have not heard of a single case of a fork warranty being denied due to the presence of an EDC thread.
