And then for an encore I touched the brake rotor with my bare hand and laid the bike down on the drive side. The horror!

Not all of us can store our bike upside down (right side up has other benefits particularly for the brakes, but that's another story), and how much oil flows past the bushing to the top of the fork, and how long it takes, depends from fork to fork and ... more »

Same, but I don't usually travel with fork oil and some people still find that part daunting, messy, and/or time consuming. Also, that might not qualify as being lazy enough. The point is not to replace or avoid service, but to keeping them feeling as fresh as possible in between. I've found it works a bit better and lasts a bit longer than simply holding the bike upside down for 30 seconds.

You don't need to if you are just removing the lower legs. But you would definitely need to release the air if you were going to unthread the top of the airspring.

I've noticed a few quick shots on social media the past few weeks of what looked to be a new Maxxis spike tire, but couldn't tell for sure. Here's a better

Hope I’m not setting anyone up for disappointment. It’s nothing special, just something you might not have thought of to get close to a freshly serviced feel after a few hard rides. Definitely not a replacement for the real thing. Spomer has the video, ... more »

Maybe I should make a video of my 'lazy man's fork service.' Takes under two minutes (5 min for the extended version) and keeps the fork feeling mint in between standard service intervals. I've picked up a few suspension and brake setup trick over the ... more »

Same reason we see bags of dried fruit labeled vegan and gluten free. I had a good laugh with a product manager for a tire company a few years ago when I asked if he had anything new and his answer was 'an ebike specific hotpatch.' Same tires, but with ... more »

You guys can argue the benefits/marketing of 2mm if you want, I'm more interested what's going on inside. Won't repeat what I was told, but I had a bounce on one last year and breakaway friction was ridiculously low. Like one finger on the bar was enough ... more »

That was because inverted forks are far less stiff to start with. I very much doubt they would be unable to design a conventional 38mm DH fork that that wasn't at least as stiff as a 38mm Ohlins or 35mm Boxxer. I also doubt we'll see it happen though. ... more »

air bleed ports, axel pinch bolts, and a more elliptical shaped arch are visually the most obvious changes. Can't share what I've been told about the internals, but the one I pushed up and down on last year had by far the lowest friction of any fork ... more »

Definitely something new, let's hope it hasn't been nixed along with their non-xc racing program. The Fox fork/shock look pretty standard though.

That pic could be from a couple years ago during a training trip to SoCal or a visit to 100%. That's Canyon's Carlsbad, CA office and the bike you can make out looks like its just on display in the lobby.
