2014 Airborne Toxin

My kind of bike, nice work. Was looking at an, "Airborne Plague"; because it was a good deal at one point. Funny name, but it was a great deal compared to similar offers. Your bike passes my basic visual inspection, unlike many bikes nowadays. I must admit they look better in person, like I saw a Pivot Firebird online before, and I thought it looked shitty, but I saw one in person at a local bicycle shop, and it looked really nice, so who knows what snake oil.

Just killing me with the Shimano 8020's, I got a M8000 like a month before they changed to the 8020 caliper. At the time I was even like, "Shimano is targeting me with bullying this is so bad".

Damn, kind of want to upgrade to a Shimano XT M8000 drivetrain. They're such a good deal for what you get, especially now that they've been overshadowed by the new XTR 9100, they'll be bargain basement. Really something to think about. Yours looks nice!

Solid fork, like the good old days. There are definitely upsides to a solid fork, but if you watch a rigid bike through rugged terrain, it's brutal. All depends how you want to use the bike, honestly if you're mostly on the road, or even doing skills like bunny hopping, many instances a solid fork is better.

Pretty likable bike you got there. Only things I'd want is make sure the rims are strong, and maybe a gusset at the headtube. I had WTB rims of probably similar spec years back, and they were bullet proof for me, so it all depends. The frame size looks pretty much perfect for me, I always want a 15 inch at the seat tube frame. Had a chromoly frame back in the day, and it went well beyond it's intended duty.

Hey @kramz. Yeah the bash is an older Shimano direct mount for saint cranks. I modified it to fit the profile spider. I've never noticed any balance issues. YIEW

Evil Faction II

Yeah those are nice. I have a Evil Faction 1, and was bummed I didn't get a 2, would rather the horizontal drop outs, and the modern 1.5" headtube. Mine rides like a Cadillac, heavy, comfortable, and zero noise.

Always thought Funn was good, glad to see they're still making parts.

Sweet, they somehow magically made it work with no battery. Good to see some real companies still coming out with real, useful products.
