Looks like a winner. More coil, more light(weight) for all.

Very cool. And we just need to know which Maxxis tires to run.

Maybe a braking traction test, next, if possible to compare accurately and scientificishly.

Added a comment about press release Ibis Launches the Mojo HD5 9/24/2019 7:39 PM

The original Mojo and HD frame curves were so unique and iconic looking. Perfect. And way ahead of their time. Each new generation of Ibis' look like a distorted and disjointed interpretation that original design, with a little early Nomad mixed in. The original frames look more "modern" than the newer generations. Would be nice to see Ibis go back to those flowy frame lines that started it all for them in the carbon era.

Aluminum frame. Is this because he prefers the aluminium over carbon, or because carbon is not available for this platform?

Can we have the next generation of this lineup include a downtube Stash Pocket under the bottle cage? Call it the S Pocket. We'd love it.

Makes sense. But watching this reveiwer's video, he's putting the bike through riding that could easily justify a shock with a better damper and or coil spring. Might even buffer against harder impacts through the frame and linkage with a little better hydraulics in the shock deparment.

Three questions:

Will a coil shock fit in the frame?
Will PUSH Industries come out with a new linkage kit to better match a coil shock?
Was not building in enough room in the frame for a FOX Float X2 intentional, or an oversight?

Radically modernized Hightower. Well done.

Added a comment about press release Norco Bicycles Introduces the All-New, Pedal-Assist Fluid VLT E-Mountain Bike 4/5/2019 3:31 PM
JimEG

The mechanical shifter system is not additive energy. There is energy loss, mostly through friction, in the system. The mechanical shifter rider input energy is higher than the output energy due to system friction loss. Not the case with a battery powered drive motor that is directed through a lower energy rider input tap on the E shifter control and E boosted by a higher energy output at the derailleur.

One of or a combination of E drivetrain, E braking system and E dropper post could have a net total of additive energy to reduce overall rider energy output to become an actual additive energy advantage over riders using E unassisted bikes - and not just E assist at the pedals.

All LBS and mechanic job security aside. This was more an inquiry into the line between E and traditional MTB.
